JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle to get physical release

Namco Bandai has some good news for fans of fighting games, and that’s a retail release and new mode for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle. The CyberConnect2-developed fighter, released last August in Japan, will be launching later this year online for download and to purchase on disc. The PS3 exclusive will be available to download through PSN and also in limited availability in physical format through Amazon.com and ClubNamco.com. The Western release will include not only post-release balance tweaks but also a new mode, Arcade, which adds an eight-player tournament.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma will be hitting store shelves on March 25, according to Aksys Games. The PS3 fighter will also come with a launch-copy extra, a voucher with a DLC code for an additional character, Yuki Terumi. The voucher will be included in both the standard release and the Limited Edition.

Ultra Street Fighter IV gets Online Training and Team Battle modes

Capcom revealed some new information about Ultra Street Fighter IV this past weekend during their Capcom Cup event in San Francisco. The last mystery character was not announced, unfortunately, but the good news is that two modes have been added: Online Training Mode and Team Battle Mode. The former will allow players to spar with one another online, while the latter will add 3v3 matches to online play. New screenshots were also released, showing more of the 44-character roster battling it out in some of the six new stages.

Souls reignite as Soulcalibur II HD Online launches for 360, PS3

Namco Bandai has announced that Soulcalibur II HD Online is now live for 360 and PS3. The Project Soul-developed port includes updated visuals, online multiplayer, and two of the three console-exclusive characters from the 2003 original: Heihachi and Spawn. The re-release features seven modes in total, which include Arcade, Survival, VS Battle, Time Attack, Team Battle, Practice, and Weapon Master.

Namco Bandia has released the first round of screenshots from their upcoming free-to-play fighter Soulcalibur Lost Swords. The singleplayer-only download will feature a handful of new abilities, and the shots show a few of these in action: the Soul Break moves that can break armor, the powerful Weapon Arts attacks, and the Character Support system, which allows players to call in friends’ characters to give them a hand.

Soulcalibur II HD Online to reignite souls on November 19 and 20

Namco Bandai has announced that Soulcalibur II HD Online will be launching on November 19 for PS3 and on November 20 for 360. The $19.99 release will not only include updated visuals and support for online play, but it will also feature two of the three characters that were console exclusives when the game originally launched in 2003: Heihachi and Spawn. BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma will be released in a standard version as well as a premium edition, according to publisher Aksys Games. The PS3-exclusive fighter will introduce five new characters to the series as well as downloadable costumes, redesigned characters, new moves, an estimated 30-hour story mode, a revamped networking mode, and new ranking system. The limited edition will include a 40-page art book, a soundtrack, a figurine of Rachel Alucard, and an unrevealed fourth item (ooohhh – a mystery!).
