Neon overload ahead, Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet out for PS4

NIS has released Cubetype’s hybrid twin-stick shooter/fighter Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet for PS4. As one of 10 characters, players must battle the rest of the cast in one-on-one combat using shooter mechanics throughout Story Mode. Boss Rush and Versus modes are also included. In addition, $2.99 Story and BGM packs have been released for Aya Shameimaru, Flandre Scarlet, and Yukari Yakumo. A free character, fan-contest winner Yukari Yakumo, will be added on October 4.

The King of Fighters XIV trailer spotlights the demonic boss Verse

Players who haven’t gone through the story mode of The King of Fighters XIV might want to skip this post (er, and the headline image). And … here we go. Atlus has released a trailer for the game’s true boss, Verse. Russian magnate Antonov steps up as the final opponent, but he’s quickly superseded by the powerful, fiery demon known as Verse. Mortal Kombat XL headed to PC, patch to console version on Oct. 4

Warner Bros. is bringing Mortal Kombat back to PC with Mortal Kombat XL. Scheduled to launch on October 4, the Qloc-ported fighter will feature the original game along with all skin and Kombat fighter packs. The skin drops include the Apocalypse Skin Pack, Brazil Skin Pack, Kold War Skin Pack, Kold War Scorpion Skin, and Samurai Skin Pack. The Kombat packs add several fighters to the roster: Goro, Predator, the Xenomorph from Alien, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Tremor, Tanya, Triborg, and Bo’Rai Cho. Current owners having connectivity problems will be able to download a patch at release that provides balance changes and an “enhanced online experience.”

The King of Fighters XIV World Championship info, launch trailer up

Fresh off its release, Atlus has announced The King of Fighters XIV World Championship. The tournament is scheduled to run during January, and will feature the best players from around the world. Details should be along shortly. But they didn’t come empty-handed, as a launch trailer was released alongside the tourney info that offers a look at several of the 50 available characters. The King of Fighters XIV finishes its introductions, launches for PS4

King of Fighters is officially back. After weeks of team reveals, Atlus has announced that The King of Fighters XIV has been released for PS4. The inaugural 3D entry features 50 characters, an updated combo system, story mode, and new multiplayer options. Team K’ and Team Women Fighters join The King of Fighters XIV

Atlus has revealed the final two teams for The King of Fighters XIV, Team K’ and Team Women Fighters. Team K’ consists of K’, a fighter infused with the fire-controlling DNA of Kyo, along with ice-wielder Kula Diamond and cyborg brawler Maxima. Team Women Fighters includes Fatal Fury ninja superstar and fan aficionado Mai Shiranui, Muay Thai bartender King, and Team Fatal Fury’s biggest fan, Alice.

Lee Chaolan, along with Violet, join cast of Tekken 7

Tekken 7’s roster expanded today with news that Lee Chaolan is being added to the cast. Not just Lee, either, but also his alter ego Violet. Adopted by Heihachi and raised to be the rival of Kazuya, Lee went on to form a robotics company. As Heihachi and Kazuya continue their war, Lee waits for his moment to strike. Lee’s is just one of several plotlines that are set to play out during Tekken 7’s Story Mode.

The King of Fighters XIV ‘Burn to Fight’ Edition gets unboxed

Fighting fans looking forward to The King of Fighters XIV are getting a close-up look at the premium ‘Burn to Fight’ edition in a new unboxing video. The standard version’s first-run steelbook release is displayed, but the meat of the video is a better look at the extras that come in the big-box bundle: a 144-page, series-spanning art book, a three-disc soundtrack set that includes 60-plus songs, and an oversized themed box.
