Aksys has announced that their upcoming fighter Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!! will launch on September 23 for both PS3 and PS Vita. The US version will also feature a double art insert, with an exclusive fighter-themed cover on one side and the Japanese cheerleader-themed cover on the other. The 23-character fighter will feature new brawlers, online play with lobby support for up to six players, and over 300 hidden scenarios. Nearly a dozen new screenshots were also released, showing more of the crew in action.

Sign-up begins for Rise of Incarnates closed beta

Upcoming PC free-to-play fighter Rise of Incarnates is scheduled to enter closed beta on August 8. Gamers interested in signing up to access the beta, which will run until 11:50 p.m. (PDT) on August 17, can go here. At launch, the closed beta will include characters Ares, Grim Reaper, Lilith, and Mephistopheles, with Brynhildr set to be added on August 13, as well as two battlegrounds, New York City and Paris. A few purchasable items will be made available for testing out the character-customization system.

New extended version of Tekken 7 trailer revealed at Comic-Con

Bandai Namco has released an extended version of the Tekken 7 teaser that was debuted during this year’s Evo. The new cut was shown at the studio’s Fighting Game panel during Comic-Con and runs a little over a minute and a half longer than the original.

Bandai Namco reveals Tekken 7 at Evo 2014

Bandai Namco decided to add even more energy (some might say “hype”) to Evo 2014 by announcing Tekken 7. Details were scarce, save for that Unreal Engine 4 is being used to power the brawler. According to series executive producer and game director Katsuhiro Harada, the team went with UE4 to “focus our efforts on making Tekken 7 the best possible game without worrying about spending time creating a stand-alone graphic engine.” A teaser was released, however, offering a few hints at what’s in store.

Ace Combat Infinity, Soulcalibur Lost Swords pass 1-million mark

Ace Combat Infinity, the series’ first free-to-play entry, passed the one-million-download mark during May, according to Bandai Namco. To celebrate, Project Aces will gift every player who checks their notification about the commemoration before August 18 a free special aircraft, the Mirage 2000-5 -White Tiger-. The studio’s other free-to-play title, Soulcalibur Lost Swords, also surpassed one million downloads. A One Million Download Campaign was kicked off in honor of the milestone, and from July 9 to 23, players will be able to battle through a new campaign as well as take on special quests to unlock Ivy, Astaroth, and gift items.

And another pick-up for Aksys. Following the announcement that they will be publishing the visual novel Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters, the studio sent word that they will also be publishing the PS3 fighter Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late. Co-developed by French Bread and Arc System Works, Under Night will feature 16 characters, six game modes, including Arcade, Score Attack, and Survival, as well as online multiplayer. Fighting fans will have to wait a bit before they can get their hands on it, though, as it isn’t set for release until 2015.

Atlus details Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Evo side tourney, Adachi DLC

Atlus has announced that Adachi, the hapless detective in Persona 4, will be available as a downloadable character in the upcoming fighter Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. He is being added as paid DLC, but players who purchase the game early enough will be able to download his pack for free during launch week. In Evo news, Atlus also announced that they will not only have hands-on demos available at their booth, but that they are also putting up a $1,000 prize purse for a Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Side Tournament. Atlus releases new screenshots from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Atlus has released some new screens from their upcoming fighter Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. The Arc System Works-developed follow-up to 2012’s Persona 4 Arena will be released this fall, and it was also announced that the game will retail for $59.99. As with its predecessor, players will be able to control characters from Persona 3 and 4 through a storyline that ties the crews together as they search for the creator of the P-1 Climax tournament. A few new combatants will be joining the investigation, including Junpei, Rise, and Yukari.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma ver. 1.1 update going live this week

The PS3 version of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma will be updated to version 1.1 at 12:00 a.m. (PST) this Wednesday, according to Aksys Games. The patch will focus on improving the challenge and training modes. The PS Vita version will be released as 1.1 when it launches on June 24.

All-Star Battle features characters from the manga’s eight story arcs battling it out in a one-on-one, tournament-style fighter using five different Battle Styles.
