Far Cry 4 season pass to include five packs of missions and modes

Far Cry 4’s season pass has been detailed today by Ubisoft. The $29.99 pass will be available for all versions at launch and include new missions and modes for both solo and co-op play. A day-one mission, The Syringe, is a single or co-op mission exclusive for season pass holders that pits players against Pagan Min’s forces in a game of keep-away as they attempt to safeguard a recipe. In addition, there will be four other download packs. Escape from Durgesh Prison will be an open-world survival mode playable solo or in co-op, Hurk Deluxe Pack will include five missions and a new weapon, Overrun will add a player-versus-player territory-style mode, and Valley of the Yetis will add a horde-style mode playable solo or in co-op. Far Cry Classic taking players back to the jungle next week

Far Cry Classic, an updated re-release of the original Far Cry, will be available on February 11 on Live and PSN, according to Ubisoft. Previously scheduled for launch as part of Microsoft’s 2013 Summer Arcade promo, this new version will run $9.99 and feature updated graphics, a new interface, and improved cutscenes. Far Cry Classic is not included in the upcoming Far Cry Compilation, but it is in the European version, titled Far Cry The Wild Expedition.

To commemorate the Far Cry series’ 10-year anniversary, Ubisoft will be releasing a new collection for PS3. Far Cry Compilation, scheduled to be released on February 11, will include 2008’s Far Cry 2 as well as 2012’s Far Cry 3 and 2013’s Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. No word how (or if) Far Cry will make its way into the collection.

Things just got weird. Or, a lot like my childhood. Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, the standalone 80s-themed expansion to the very non-80s-themed Far Cry 3, is available for consoles and PC. The $14.99 download, developed by Ubisoft Montreal, is a wink, a nod, a nudge, and a high-five to the 1980s, with the world looking as if it was recorded off a VHS copy of Excessive Action 2: Island Assault. Players take on the role of Sergeant Rox Colt, a Mark IV cyber commando that is “part man, part machine, all American,” on the hunt for a former commander gone rogue. Naturally, the game features Michael Biehn.

Far Cry 3 updated with fan-requested features patch

A new patch has launched for the 360, PC, and PS3 versions of Far Cry 3. According to Ubisoft, the update is a result of the community feedback they have received since launch. As a result, the patch includes some of the most request single- and multiplayer features, such as a new harder difficulty setting, the ability to reset liberated outposts after completing the game, new HUD settings that allow for greater customization, the ability to search multiplayer maps by author, and more. Far Cry 3 got a shot in the arm today with the release of the all-in-one Deluxe Bundle DLC for 360, PC, and PS3. The pack, detailed below, include six single-player missions, four new animals, new weapons for the campaign, new weapon unlocks for multiplayer, a new character, and two end-of-match movies. All told, the Bundle includes everything from the four previously released packs: The Lost Expeditions, The Monkey Business Pack, The Warrior, and The Predator Pack.

Far Cry 3 now available for consoles and PC, PS3 DLC announced

After many a video tour from developers Ubisoft Montreal and Massive, Far Cry 3 is now available for 360, PC, and PS3. The open-world first-person shooter has players taking on the role of Jason Brody, a thrill-seeking tourist who finds himself, along with his friends, thrust into a crazy world of drugs and violence. Skills will be learned, animals will be hunted, and bodies will be looted. A separate multiplayer-only campaign is also available for co-op play, which centers on four criminals looking for their stolen loot six months earlier.

New trailer shows off Far Cry 3’s four-player co-op campaign

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Far Cry 3 detailing the four playable characters starring in the co-op campaign. The co-op campaign is entirely separate from the main storyline, and features four hooligans out to recover their stolen loot six months prior to the arrival of Jason Brody and friends. Consoles support up to four players both online and offline via splitscreen, while PC supports online only.

Ubisoft introduces Far Cry 3’s explosive-monkey-totin’ bonus, Hurk

Ubisoft has released a trailer introducing Hurk, GameStop’s pre-order bonus for Far Cry 3. Hurk is an exclusive non-playable character who hands out quests and uses monkeys, strapped with explosives, to take out his enemies. He will be available for the 360 and PS3 versions, and in addition to exploding monkeys, he’ll also be bringing along four bonus missions and two multiplayer humiliations.
