Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Faction Pack
4A Games is preparing to send Linux and Mac gamers into the mutant-infested world of post-apocalyptic Russia with Metro: Last Light. Publisher Deep Silver has announced that a Mac version is near completion, scheduled for release on September 10, and that a Linux version is currently on track for launch later this year. Both versions will support the same DLC as the console and Windows versions, as well as Steam Play, which means that owners of any Steam version will find the latest releases automatically added to their library. The Season Pass, the Faction Pack, and the Tower Pack will be available at launch for the Mac version, and the remaining two packs, Developer and Chronicles, will launch simultaneously with the other versions.
Metro: Last Light’s first downloadable add-on, Faction Pack, is now available for consoles and PC. Developed by 4A Games, Faction Pack includes three new single-player missions, with one mission for each of the game’s main factions: the Rangers, the Redline, and the Reich. As a Polis Ranger, players must hunt for artifacts and relics in the library. The other two offer a chance to infiltrate a Reich oupost as a Redline sniper and hold the frontline as a Reich ‘heavy’.
Deep Silver is looking to expand the Metro: Last Light universe next week with the launch of Faction Pack. The 4A Games-developed drop will include three new single-player missions, each featuring a character from a different faction: a Redline Special Detachment Sniper tasked with infiltrating a Reich Outpost, a Reich ‘Heavy’ assigned with defending the Frontline, and a Polis Ranger on the hunt in the Library for artifacts and relics.
The Metro: Last Light experience will be extended this summer with upcoming downloadable content, challenge, and tool kit packs. Deep Silver has announced that 4A Games is set to release two single-player story content drops, Faction Pack and Chronicles Pack, the solo challenge Tower Pack, and the Developer Pack. Faction Pack is set to be the first out, and is scheduled to launch next month.
