Eugen Systems has released six new shots from its upcoming follow-up to Wargame: European Escalation, AirLand Battle. The images reveal some more of the 300-plus craft and infantry that will be making their way onto the battlefield, including the Thunderbolt II and French Mirage III-C, as well as the new IrisZoom Engine’s use of satellite imagery to depict realistic terrain.

Eugen Systems is following last month’s teaser for Wargame: AirLand Battle, the sequel to European Escalation, with three new screens. The shots show some of the 150 aircraft and 200 ground-based infantry and armor that’s planned to hit the battlefield. Eugen isn’t done with European Escalation yet, though, with a free brand-new DLC pack launching today, Commander. And to top it off, EE is also sale on Steam for 66% off until September 27.

The New Battlefields thank-you pack includes seven multiplayer maps, two of which are asymmetrical with set attack and defense roles; new skirmish AI, with support for up to seven players and three difficulty levels; and a new Flare system that allows for preset and customized warning messages.

Focus has sent word that Eugen Systems’ Wargame: European Escalation has been delayed. The upcoming real-time strategy title will now be shipping out for the PC in the first quarter of 2012. The R.U.S.E. and Act of War developer will be using the additional time to give the game a bit more polish.

Eugen Systems, developers of the much underrated R.U.S.E., is gearing up for the release of their upcoming real-time strategy title, Wargame: European Escalation. Set to launch later this year, Escalation Europe will feature 320 playable units, the IrisZoom feature for region-wide planning and local fighting, as well as a what-if story where NATO goes to war against the Warsaw Pact in 1975. A recently launch website includes more details, media, and a forum to keep the community updated. The studio also released four new shots of the game, showing off some of the armor and air units.
