Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Eidos Montreal
Thief fans can now see Garrett back in action with a new trailer from Square Enix. The minute-long video shows Garrett gearing up for and going on a heist. The Eidos Montreal-developed title will see the master thief make his way through many more jewel boxes and trophy cases in a city on the brink of collapse, as the avarice of the rich feeds the growing resentment of the underclass.
If you’ve been curious as to what Eidos Montreal has been up to since they wrapped up the fantastic Deus Ex: Human Revolution, you now have your answer: Thief. Square Enix has announced that the next entry in the long-dormant Thief series is currently under development at the studio, and that Garrett will be returning as the protagonist, making his way back into gaming after an eight-year absence.
Grab your cargo pants and your spaghetti strap tee—it’s time to start raiding some tombs. Crystal Dynamic’s Tomb Raider reboot, aptly titled Tomb Raider, is now available for 360, PC, and PS3. The single-player campaign features everything you have come to expect from a Lara Croft adventure, an array of weaponry, including bows and arrows and pistols, iffy zip lines, dangerous fauna, grave-robbing red shirts to take down, and a deadly ancient curse—what? No curse? There’s also a separate multiplayer campaign, courtesy of Eidos Montreal.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution, released last August for the 360, PC and PS3, is now available digitally for the 360 through Games on Demand. The $29.99/2400 MS Point shooter-RPG from Edios Montreal sees cybernetically augmented strong man Adam Jensen trying to unravel a global conspiracy. Players will be able to hack, talk, or blast their way through encounters as they level up and enhance Jensen’s augments.
