Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen
Capcom’s open-world action role-playing game Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen has launched for PC. The expanded re-release of Dragon’s Dogma, released in 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360, has been updated with Steam support, including Achievements and additional controller options, updated visuals, and support for 4K. Dark Arisen includes all of the content from the original game as well as a new area, Bitterblack Isle, that adds new enemies, quests, weapons, and armor.
Capcom’s fantastic action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen has launched on Live Games on Demand for $39.99. The re-release of 2012’s Dragon’s Dogma includes the base game plus over 100 new weapons and pieces of armor, new skills and augments, as well as a new area, Bitterblack Isle. The island includes new high-level quests and enemies, and is accessible from the game’s starting area.
Capcom is calling adventurers back to Gransys today with the release of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. The expansion includes a new location, Bitterblack Isle, along with a host of new content: over 100 weapons and armor sets, high-skill levels and augments, enemies, and quests. The base game is also included as a bonus, which benefits from a more user-friendly travel system. Owners of the original game will receive several extras, including an Eternal Ferrystone, 100,000 Rift Crystals, and the six-costume Gransys Armor Pack.
A new gameplay trailer has been released for Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, the upcoming enhanced re-release. The minute-plus-long video shows some of the dangers that will greet players during their time in the newly added Bitterblack Isle, including Necrophagous, beasts that seek out decomposing flesh; a cave-dwelling Elder Ogre; a Cursed Dragon; and fog-spewing Garms.
Capcom has released new details about the expansion to their action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen. Scheduled to launch for 360 and PS3 on April 23 as a download and on disc, Dark Arisen will feature a new area, over 25 new enemies, a new skill tier, 100-plus new pieces of equipment with new enhancement tiers, 14 new augments, greater character customization, item appraisal, optional Japanese voice track, and all of the content from the original game. Given that the original is one of our favorites from last year, that, as well as the $39.99 price tag, is great news. Veterans can look forward to easier travel and a refined menu system, plus a handful of extras: 100,000 Rift Crystals, unlimited Ferrystones, and the six-costume Gransys Armour Pack.
It’s looking as if the recently released patch and updated PlayStation 3 demo was just the first step in expanding Dragon’s Dogma’s presence. Capcom has announced that another update is in the works, which will add two new modes (Speedrun and Hard Mode), as well as an expansion set to launch in 2013: Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen. A trailer and a handful of screens for Arisen were also made available.
