QuakeCon 2013 pre-registration opens, limited packages announced
Online pre-registration will launch today at 7:00 p.m. (CST) for QuakeCon 2013. Admission is free, as always, but pre-registration will be for the for-pay packages that offer additional perks and extra goodies. There are four packages in total, each offering different extras, from swag to guaranteed seating, as well as options to mix and match. All packages are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Doom 3 BFG Edition now available for 360, PC, and PS3
After eight years, Doom 3 returns to store shelves today as Doom 3 BFG Edition. The enhanced re-release features updated versions of the 2004 original and its Resurrection of Evil expansion, as well as a new eight-level chapter called The Lost Missions. Old and new content alike support 3D, improved rendering and lighting, a new checkpoint save system, and 5.1 surround sound. As an added bonus, the collection also includes classic versions of Doom and Doom II.

Doom 3 BFG Edition trailer emerges from QuakeCon 2012
With QuakeCon 2012 in full swing, id and Bethesda have released new footage from the upcoming Doom 3 re-release, Doom 3 BFG Edition. The trailer, The Lost Mission, shows off some of the new seven-level chapter of the same name. It,Doom 3, and the Resurrection of Evil expansion will all support 5.1 surround sound and 3D. The set will also include Doom and Doom II.

Doom 3 BFG Edition release date, price announced
The upcoming re-release of id Software’s 2004 first-person shooter Doom 3, the BFG Edition, will be hitting store shelves on October 16. The set will include updated versions of the original game and its Resurrection of Evil expansion, plus a new seven-level chapter called The Lost Missions. All Doom 3-related content will support trophies/achievements, 3D, and 5.1 surround sound. And as an added bonus, id is also tossing in both Doom and Doom II.

Doom 3 is rising from its gaming grave with an updated version for the 360, PC, and PS3, Doom 3 BFG Edition. The collection includes the 2004 original, the Resurrection of Evil expansion, and a new seven-level storyline, The Lost Mission. All three support 3D TVs and monitors, 5.1 surround sound, and sport refined controls, improved rendering and lighting, and a new checkpoint system. Best of all? The flashlight will be mounted to the armor. As an added bonus, Doom and Doom 2 will also be included.

Doom returns to Live Arcade – pew! pew! BOOOOOOOM!
After passing a year-plus all by its lonesome, Doom II will be rejoined by its predecessor later today when Doom re-launches on Live Marketplace. id’s seminal first-person shooter was pulled some time ago, but it will be back in all its keycard and BFG 9000 glory by the end of the day for 400 MS Points.

QuakeCon 2011 Steam and App Store sales kick off
Some celebratory QuakeCon 2011 sales have hit Steam and the Apple App store today, with discounts on both id and Bethesda titles. In addition to Steam’s offerings, with the full list found here, including a daily deal featuring a Doom & Quake Complete Pack with Quake IV, many of id’s mobile titles are also on sale. There are some solid deals to be had, including Doom Classic for $1.99 (down from $6.99) and Doom II RPG for $.99 (down from $3.99) on the App Store. Additional details can be found below.
