Hard West has taken a macabre turn with its new downloadable add-on, The Scars of Freedom. The $2.99 scenario adds seven missions, 10 playable characters, and a storyline following an escaped slave named Libertee. After becoming a vigilante, Libertee falls into the hands of a demented surgeon who experiments on her. Now with supernatural abilities and a mangled body, she is on the hunt for revenge as she scours the land for the man responsible.

Metal Gear V’s Quiet will be getting her time in the limelight later this month when her Metal Gear Online add-on goes live on March 15. The expansion will add three new maps—Azure Mountain, Coral Complex, and Rust Palace—as well as the popular support partner Quiet as a playable character. She will have a temporary cloak, a speed boost, and the ability to jump over high steps and ladders. Additionally, a new mode, Survival, will be added on April 7. Teams will compete to last the longest, with rewards improving the longer their win streak. The new maps will be playable in Survival for everyone, but there will be a limit of 10 tries per week, with the limit reset every Tuesday. Of course, players who buy the add-on will have unlimited access to them.

Halo 5: Guardians – Hammer Storm update detailed, released

The free February Content Update for Halo 5: Guardians, Hammer Storm, has launched on Live. The automatic download adds new game modes, weapons, REQ items, and a map. The new modes include Assault, Fiesta, and Grifball, with Fiesta having a roulette-style weapon system and Grifbal mixing hammers and swords for a sci-fi take on sports. The map, Torque, is described as a large symmetrical map that is designed for Assault and Capture the Flag. Expanding the arsenal is the Gravity Hammer as well as the return of the Halo: CE Pistol. Added REQs include weapon skins, emblems, assassinations, visors, and armors. The new ball mechanic in Grifball has also been added to Forge.

Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours getting Sega-themed DLC

Degica has announced a new trio of downloadable content add-ons for Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours. In addition to the three previously announced Taito-themed packs, the studio has revealed that three more will be added for various Sega shooters. The Sega set will include ships, levels, and remixed music based on Fantasy Zone, Galaxy Force II, and Space Harrier. The Taito packs, based on Metal Black, Night Striker, and RayForce, is scheduled to go live on March 17. The packs will be available individually for $4.99 or as three-pack bundles for $11.99. Rocket League launches for Xbox One with Halo, Gears goodies

Psyonix’s popular driving-soccer hybrid Rocket League has launched for Xbox One. The $19.99 action-heavy sports title is being released through ID@Xbox and was co-developed by Panic Button Games. The new version features several extras, including two system-exclusive battle-cars—the Halo ‘HogSticker’ and the Gears of War ‘Armadillo’—and Garage items based on Halo, Gears of War, and Sunset Overdrive. The package is also bundled with three previously released download packs: Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run. A full run down of everything added is listed below.

Street Fighter V launches in stores, online for PC and PS4

Seven years and four iterations later, Capcom has officially moved on from Street Fighter IV today with the release of Street Fighter V. (A moment of silence, please.) The cross-platform PC, PS4 fighter returns with “exciting and accessible battle mechanics,” new fighters, and the reappearance of a few Street Fighter Alpha veterans. The entry also introduces two forms of in-game currency to unlock new content, Fight Money and Zenny. The former is earned during play while the latter is purchased with real cash, but everything, including costumes and characters, will be unlockable through gameplay. The first content update is slated to launch next month, which will open the in-game story and add Street Fighter III’s Alex to the roster. A free story expansion is also in the works and set to go live this June.

Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer component to The Phantom Pain, will be receiving a new campaign this March. The downloadable pack, Cloaked in Silence, will add three maps, a new character, and other, undefined extra content. The maps include Coral Complex, a Motherbase environment that is dominated by tall towers and cover-friendly storage containers; Rust Palace, a dilapidated multilevel building in Afghanistan; and Azure Mountain, a largely open plain located in Africa. The add-on will also unlock Quiet as a playable character. She will be able to jump over high steps, instead of using ladders, temporarily cloak, and engage a speed boost. Appeal Action character poses will also be on offer. All for-pay content will be supplemented with a free update that will add the new competitive mission Sabotage.

The Following is also available separately as a download for the base game, along with a free update that adds extra missions and modes. The Following brings with it a new storyline, buggy, zone, and enemies.

Players will guide the duo after they are transported to Zero Dimension, a world that is nearing its end, and help the remaining CPU Uzume Tennouboshi in its battle against the Dark CPU. The game features three worlds along with three different storylines, a new transformation mode, a new dungeon minigame, and a revamped battle system.
