Sunset Overdrive weapon DLC released, voting and MP perks detailed

Insomniac Games has announced several new items for Sunset Overdrive, including new weapons, events, and item boosts. The first weapon pack launched today for $4.99, which includes the Plague Bomb, which causes vomiting to the point of exploding; the Rager, for creating a cloud that confuses and enrages enemies to the point where they attack one another; Shield Buddy, a bomb-deploying shield; and the Multi-Lock Rocket Launcher for targeting up to eight enemies at once. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth out for 3DS, new videos released

The Persona 3 and Persona 4 crews have reunited once more before the end of the year, but instead of fighting one another, they’re teaming up for a new adventure in Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. To celebrate, Atlus has released four new videos, below, which joins a host of other previously released videos. Persona Q marks the line’s debut on a Nintendo system, and it’s also the first time that the series has entered into the Etrian Odyssey-style world of dungeon crawling. And there will be a lot of crawling around dungeons, as it’s estimated to last over 80 hours, with each team getting their own storyline filled with dialogue choices and plot reveals. Guilty Gear Xrd –Sign– demo launches for PS Plus members

Aksys has released a demo of Arc System Works’ latest fighter, Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, for PS3 and PS4. The only hitch is that it’s currently only available for PS Plus members, at least from now until December 8. The demo features two playable characters, Ky Kiske and Sol Badguy, as well as access to Tutorial Mode and the prologue via Arcade Mode.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin announced for console and PC

From Software has more Dark Souls II in store for 2015. Bandai Namco has announced that the studio is currently working on Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin for 360, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Scheduled to launch on April 7, Scholar of the First Sin will include the original game along with all three downloadable chapters (The Lost Crowns Trilogy) and brand-new content. New enemies, in-game events, and an extra non-playable character are being added for all versions, which will be included in the free ver. 1.10 patch for current owners. The versions for the newer consoles and DirectX11 PCs will also sport enhanced graphics.

Total War: Attila dated for February, DLC and Special Edition revealed

Sega has detailed their release plans for Creative Assembly’s Total War: Attila. The upcoming Rome II sequel will be available in physical as well as digital formats on February 17. Pre-orders are also open today, and those who put their cash down now will receive the first download pack, The Viking Forefathers Culture Pack, for free. The pack will also be available separately at launch for $7.99 and add three playable factions: The Danes, The Geats, and The Jutes. It will also come bundled with a Special Edition, along with Attila The Hun Biography by Nic Fields and a reference guide poster. Symbiotes invade Zen Studios, announce Venom Pinball

Venom will be swinging out of the pages of Spider-Man and into his own game, courtesy of Zen Studios. The developer has announced that a new Venom-themed pinball table will go live on December 8 for its various platforms, including Marvel Pinball, Pinball FX2, and Zen Pinball 2. The table will feature Venom battling both Spider-Man and fellow Symbiote-powered villain Carnage. A handful mini-game will also play out Spider-Man’s time with the Symbiote as well as Carnage’s origins.

Total War: Rome II gets free faction, Black Sea Colonies Culture Pack

Creative Assembly has released a new update containing a new faction as well as new for-pay DLC for Total War: Rome II. The free faction is the state of Massilia, a city founded by Greek colonists on the northwest coast of Mediterranean that has since adopted Gallic culture and combat tactics. The rest of the update includes a host of unit balance tweaks. Additionally, a for-pay DLC pack, the Black Sea Colonies Culture Pack, adds three new factions for play in the Grand Campaign, custom battles, and multiplayer: Cimmeria, Colchis, and Pergamom. Each was founded by Greek colonists, so their units and buildings are a combination of Hellenistic and regional influences. A full breakdown is available below.

EA has released a deluxe edition of Respawn’s latest shooter Titanfall. The new bundle includes the original game plus all three downloadable packs. The drops—Expedition, Frontier’s Edge, and IMC Rising—bolster the original’s roster of 15 maps with nine new additions. Deluxe Edition is out today for PC for $39.99 and will launch digitally on November 25 for Xbox One for $49.99.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to get 16 pieces of free DLC for all

CD Projekt Red has announced that everyone who buys The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will receive 16 pieces of free downloadable content. Every version—PC, PS4, and Xbox One—download or physical is eligible for the free packs, the first of which, the Temerian Armor Set and a Beard and Hairstyle Set for Geralt, will go live on February 25. The second set of packs will follow a week later, adding new quests and costumes. The remaining packs will launch weekly in two-pack bundles. All downloads will be free, regardless of whether the game is purchased after launch or pre-ordered.
