Bandai Namco will be launching a Naruto Shippuden collection on August 25 for console and PC. The compilation will feature all four titles from the Ultimate Ninja Storm series. The first three entries will be remastered for the current console generation, while all of the games, including the fourth, will have all of their respective major downloadable packs. The physical release also comes with a Steelbook case, art book, and at select retailers, bonus anime.
Players will soon be able to hit the lanes in Tekken 7 with the release of Ultimate Tekken Bowl. The downloadable expansion will be the first for the latest entry, and is set to hit digital outlets next month. No price was announced, but a trailer was released to show the drop in action.
Microsoft is set to kick off the Halo Summer Celebration. In the upcoming months, the studio is set to revisit several of the older titles in the line. First up is word that four titles will be added to Xbox One’s backwards compatibility library later this year: Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, and Halo: CE Anniversary. Each game will support the campaign, multiplayer, and LAN play on Xbox One and between One and 360. As a bonus, every 360 add-on map pack will be free in Xbox Store. Later this year, Halo 5: Guardians will receive an update to support 4K alongside the release of Xbox One X. Halo Wars 2 is also set to get a new premium expansion this fall, Awakening the Nightmare. The add-on will feature a campaign focusing on The Banished, along with the return of the Flood and a new multiplayer mode, Terminus Firefight. Lastly, 343 will also be in attendance at several upcoming events, including RTX Austin 2017, HCS Summer Finals at DreamHack Atlanta, ChinaJoy and gamescom.
Infinity Ward is prepping to release Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s third downloadable pack, Absolution. As with prior drops, the add-on will introduce four new maps for multiplayer along with a new zombies storyline. The maps, detailed below, will feature golf courses, a frozen city, a shantytown within a wrecked ship, and a remake of Resistance from Modern Warfare 3. The zombies addition, Attack of the Radioactive Thing!, is set in a 1950s-era beach town after a government experiment has gone awry. Paul Reubens returns as director Willard Wyler who has once again trapped four characters within a film, now based around the famed Creature Features. The Scientist (Seth Green), the Rebel (Ike Barinholtz), the Soldier (Jay Pharoah), and the School Girl (Sasheer Zamata) are joined by narrator and horror icon Elvira as they utilize new traps, weapons, and powers against the undead hordes.
Final Fantasy XV has received a new drop today, Episode Prompto. The character-specific add-on introduces a new storyline from the perspective of photographer Prompto Argentum. Lost in the wilderness, he must fight his way through Imperial forces as he makes his way home. Along the way, he’ll come across a new snowmobile and find himself joined by Commodore Aranea Highwind. A free update has also gone live that includes “various fixes,” new themed tracks in the Regalia, and also allows players to upgrade the Regalia to the off-road Type-D model at Hammerhead.
Sega is set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hatsune Miku. To get the party going, the studio plans on getting players back into the groove with a new add-on for the PS4 rhythm title Project Diva Future Tone. Not much else is known at this point, but availability and price should be revealed soon.
Another music-centric video has been released for Valkyria Revolution. The previous footage featured composer Mitsuda-san, while the latest finds him joined by vocalist Sarah Alainn. The two play and discuss the track “Eternal Rest.” Additionally, a free theme for PS4 and PS Vita has gone live, as has a massive list of upcoming downloadable content. The download-only Zombies compilation, Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles, has gone live. The release, which requires Black Ops III, includes eight maps from the various Treyarch-developed entries: World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops II. All of the maps have been enhanced with “vibrant current-generation visuals, enhanced lighting, revamped character models and environments, and updated AI and audio systems.” Custom weapons are also available across all of the maps: Nacht der Untoten (Abandoned Bunker), Verruckt (Wittenau Sanitorium), and Shi No Numa (Jungle Swamp) from World at War; Kino Der Toten (Theater of the Dead), Ascension (Soviet Cosmodrome), Shangri-la (Exotic Jungle Shrine), and Moon (Lunar Base) from Black Ops; and Origins (WWI France) from Black Ops II.
Rockstar is going to add the distribution and manufacture of weaponry into GTA Online with the Gunrunning add-on next week. To get players ready for June 13, a new trailer has been released to offer a better look at what’s being added, including weaponized vehicles, bunkers, and a a Mobile Operations Center.
