Morrowind’s politics highlighted in ‘Assassins and Great Houses’

Bethesda has released a trailer highlighting the down-and-dirty politics that dominate Morrowind in The Elder Scrolls Online. In Assassins and Great Houses, players get a look at the intrigue that takes place throughout Vvardenfell, which will require them to work with several factions. In particular, they will have to balance their relationships with the three houses that dominate the realm: House Hlaalu, House Redoran, and House Telvanni.

Dragon Quest Heroes II receives first of five free content updates

Square Enix has released a free content update for Dragon Quest Heroes II. This marks the first of five updates that will add extended character-specific sidequests, Slime weapons, and extra multiplayer content. Today’s patch adds two sidequests, Episode Torneko and Episode Maribel & Ruff. The remaining updates and their content can be found listed below, along with a few new screenshots.

Nier: Automata adds costumes, sidequests, boss fights with CEOs

Nier: Automata’s first round of downloadable content has gone live. The drop, titled 3C3C1D119440927, costs $13.99 and includes three colosseums along with extra sidequests. The latter bestow costume rewards, with several from Nier: Replicant (Revealing Outfit for 2B, Young Man’s Outfit for 9S and Destroyer Outfit for A2), records for the jukebox, equipment and cosmetic accessories (color-changing hairspray for 2B and A2), stat-boosting masks, and special bullets that alter the enemy’s appearance. To cap it off, the colosseum battles will pit players against Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda and PlatinumGames CEO Kenichi Sato.

Gears of War 4’s May update goes live tomorrow with maps, rewards

The Coalition is set to release Gears of War 4’s May content update tomorrow. The download will feature two maps, the return of Gears of War 2’s Security as well as a newcomer, Dawn. Security has been given a graphical boost, shifting the setting to a dilapidated COG depository with working defense lasers, along with tweaks that are said to incorporate “Gears 4’s close-cover combat, Horde and proper support for respawn-based modes like TDM.” Dawn is set in an Outsider village set around an abandoned mining colony with two defensive structures, tight corridors, and open spaces. Lasers have also been adjusted, now turning on instead of off when a button is pressed in Horde. Other improvements include Multi-GPU support for Windows 10, a new Horde Variant, the return of Gnashers Only King of the Hill for Versus, craftable Locust Grenadier Elite, Season skin rewards, and Zombie Ben Carmine.

Halo Wars 2 adds a new Banished Leader, Colony, in latest DLC

Halo Wars 2 received its second downloadable pack, Colony. Colony is a Hunter pair that functions as a single Leader, and can be selected in every multiplayer mode. The creatures command the Banished Lekgolo on the Ark, which allows them to create and expand clusters that can control and repair vehicles. This allows Colony to tromp around the battlefield with a horde of Lekgolo-driven constructs that can be improved and healed, and if needed, reinforced with Colony Drop and Devastating Host. Friendly vehicles can also be commandeered using Vehicle Symbiotes, while nearby allies are healed with the passive ability Combat Repair.

Forza Horizon 3 – Hot Wheels to be available on May 9

Forza Horizon 3’s second downloadable expansion, Hot Wheels, is scheduled to go live on May 9. The add-on will expand the world with six new themed islands, described as “a place where lazy Sunday drives are replaced by insane high-speed stunts on miles of looping, banking, giant iconic orange Hot Wheels tracks.” There are even a few giant mechanical dinosaurs. A new Stunt Swap feature also allows players to modify stunt track sections to share with friends. Ten Hot Wheels will be added to tackle the courses, including Twin Mill, Rip Rod, and Bone Shaker. A debut livestream, with special guests and first-look gameplay, is scheduled for May 8 at noon over at Beam.pro.

GTA Online adds car combat mode Tiny Racers, gives free GTA$

GTA Online has received new competitive racing mode, Tiny Racers. Up to four players can battle it out across seven courses in a classic top-down view. The goal isn’t just to come in first but to avoid falling too far behind because whoever lags will eventually explode. Participants are able to grab a variety of power-ups, from bombs to rockets, to reach the head of the pack. Additionally, players who log in this week are eligible for a GTA$425K ‘tax rebate’, which will be deposited in their Maze Bank account during May.

Nier: Automata to get challenge, costume, and sub-quest DLC

Nier: Automata will soon be receiving its first round of downloadable content. Appropriately titled 3C3C1D119440927, the drop will add three colosseums, sub-quests, and rewards that add costumes from the Japan-only release Nier: Replicant. The additions include music tracks to the player’s jukebox, bullets that change enemy appearance, effect-inducing masks, and equipment and cosmetics to adjust A2’s and 2B’s hair color.

The King of Fighters XIV gets fresh with new costume DLC

Angel, Kula, Meitenkun, and Sylvie are expanding their wardrobe with new downloadable outfits. There are four alternate costumes on offer for $2.99 each. Players can grab some new pajamas for Meitenkun, a Little Red Riding Hood outfit for Sylvie, a sundress for Kula, and a Diabla look for Angel.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Continuum gets new trailer, screens

Infinity Ward has released a new trailer for the recently revealed Continuum. The multiplayer-focused video runs two minutes long, offering a glimpse at the new maps, and was released alongside a handful of new screenshots. The second DLC map pack for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare adds four maps, which are detailed below, and a 1970s-themed add-on for Zombies.
