Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles out for console, PC

The download-only Zombies compilation, Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles, has gone live. The release, which requires Black Ops III, includes eight maps from the various Treyarch-developed entries: World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops II. All of the maps have been enhanced with “vibrant current-generation visuals, enhanced lighting, revamped character models and environments, and updated AI and audio systems.” Custom weapons are also available across all of the maps: Nacht der Untoten (Abandoned Bunker), Verruckt (Wittenau Sanitorium), and Shi No Numa (Jungle Swamp) from World at War; Kino Der Toten (Theater of the Dead), Ascension (Soviet Cosmodrome), Shangri-la (Exotic Jungle Shrine), and Moon (Lunar Base) from Black Ops; and Origins (WWI France) from Black Ops II.

GTA Online gets into the illegal arm biz on June 13, trailer released

Rockstar is going to add the distribution and manufacture of weaponry into GTA Online with the Gunrunning add-on next week. To get players ready for June 13, a new trailer has been released to offer a better look at what’s being added, including weaponized vehicles, bunkers, and a a Mobile Operations Center. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind now available for console, PC

Role-playing gamers can now dive into The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind. The expansion is noted to add over 30 hours of story content, along with the nature-magic-based Warden playable class, fast-paced player-versus-player Battlegrounds mode, and a 12-player Trial. Of course, the biggest addition—literally, as it’s the largest zone added since launch—is Vvardenfell Island. Morrowind fans will get to see the island 700 years prior to the events of The Elder Scrolls III. New players can head straight to the island, tackling the original ESO content at any time, while current players can head there with a quick upgrade for their character or try it as a new Warden.

Gears of War 4 to get maps, difficulty, more with Rise of the Horde

Gears of War 4 is said to be getting its biggest update yet with the impending release of Rise of the Horde. Scheduled to launch on June 6, the free update will add 15 Horde Skills (three per class), Level 6 Skills, Loot Drops, additional difficulty levels for Campaign and Horde (Inconceivable and Ironman), and other tweaks to Horde. Also this month, two maps are returning from previous entries, Gears of War 2’s Avalanche and Gears 3’s Rust Lung. A trial is also slated to take place between June 9-15, offering players the chance to try the game for free for 10 hours, which includes the first campaign act and full access to Horde and Versus. Season Pass Holders will receive five exclusive Horde Skills when the update goes live. A full rundown of the changes can be found here.

Arc System releases Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 update on Steam

PC gamers are getting the latest Guilty Gear version today with the release of Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2. The update is available through Steam for $18.99, though note that it requires Revelator. The new iteration adds two characters (Answer and the return of Baiken), storyline scenarios, balance changes, additional techniques, improved online play, and several fighter-specific episodes. With the newcomers, the roster is now up to 25 combatants. Bundles are also available for the upgrade plus its DLC as as well as others that add Revelator.

Titanfall 2 – Monarch’s Reign adds new Titan and reimagined map

Titanfall 2’s latest download pack, Monarch’s Reign, has gone live. The drop adds the seventh multiplayer Titan, the IMC’s reverse-engineered Vanguard-class Titan dubbed Monarch. Their take focuses on support options with a unique Upgrade Core that allows for improved combat abilities during battle based on Pilot-set options. Players can also recharge the unit’s shields by drawing power from enemy or friendly Titans. Relic, a map from the original Titanfall, also returns, now set in the wreck of the IMC carrier IMS Odyssey. The pack also adds for-pay cosmetic items, art packs, and a callsign pack.

May update adds community photos, recipe to Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix has released the May update for Final Fantasy XV. The free download adds a recipe that was voted on by players from Taiwan, Stinky Tofu, and winning community photos that can be found in the Hammerhead restaurant. The team also added an in-game survey to get feedback on future updates and downloadable packs. Looking ahead, beginning next Tuesday, players can grab the freebie Trendy Outfit for Noctis off Live and PSN.

Morrowind’s politics highlighted in ‘Assassins and Great Houses’

Bethesda has released a trailer highlighting the down-and-dirty politics that dominate Morrowind in The Elder Scrolls Online. In Assassins and Great Houses, players get a look at the intrigue that takes place throughout Vvardenfell, which will require them to work with several factions. In particular, they will have to balance their relationships with the three houses that dominate the realm: House Hlaalu, House Redoran, and House Telvanni.

Dragon Quest Heroes II receives first of five free content updates

Square Enix has released a free content update for Dragon Quest Heroes II. This marks the first of five updates that will add extended character-specific sidequests, Slime weapons, and extra multiplayer content. Nier: Automata adds costumes, sidequests, boss fights with CEOs

Nier: Automata’s first round of downloadable content has gone live. The drop, titled 3C3C1D119440927, costs $13.99 and includes three colosseums along with extra sidequests. The latter bestow costume rewards, with several from Nier: Replicant (Revealing Outfit for 2B, Young Man’s Outfit for 9S and Destroyer Outfit for A2), records for the jukebox, equipment and cosmetic accessories (color-changing hairspray for 2B and A2), stat-boosting masks, and special bullets that alter the enemy’s appearance. To cap it off, the colosseum battles will pit players against Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda and PlatinumGames CEO Kenichi Sato.
