Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Divinity: Dragon Commander
Larian Studios’ latest action strategy-RPG title, Divinity: Dragon Commander, has launched online and in stores. As the Dragon Commander, players will control a struggling emperor as he strives to battle back usurpers and unify his fractured empire. From their headquarters onboard of a massive airship, players will recruit units, build structures, mobilize their troops, and consult with representatives from the world’s five races. To top it off, players can lead the charge personally by morphing into a jetpack-wearing dragon during combat. (Insert a dragon roar, the sounds of flames scorching earth, and the screams of the fleeing enemy here.)
Gamers look forward to the jet-packed-dragon-powered strategy-RPG hybrid Divinity: Dragon Commander, Larian has something for you. A lot of something. The studio has not only released 14 new screens, but a new 27-minute-long gameplay guide video as well. For nearly half an hour, the developers will walk through the various stages that await budding commanders, with footage of combat, interacting with non-playable characters, unit leveling, and navigating the world map.
GOG.com has kicked off pre-orders for Larian’s upcoming strategy-RPG Divinity: Dragon Commander. As an incentive, GOG is knocking off $5 for gamers who pre-order, lowering the price to $39.99. For those wanting to learn a bit more—and who doesn’t, given there are dragons with jetpacks—the crew at GOG held a Q&A with Larian. The nearly hour-long discussion (!) covers the studio’s influences, the game’s backstory, unit upgrades, and how the council of advisors will function. We recommend sitting through the entire video—the game sounds awesome.
Larian Studios has released a new trailer for Divinity: Dragon Commander, their upcoming strategy game that is not only set in a traditionally role-playing universe but also features dragons with jet packs. The first of its kind in the Divinity franchise, which already hosts five titles—and not a jet pack in a single one of them—Dragon Commander has been something of a mystery since its announcement. That looks to change with the brand-spanking-new video overview, which covers your council’s (manipulative) advisers, research, unit coordination, and dragon-on-dragon combat. It’s a pretty good way to spend two minutes.
