Metro: Last Light – Faction Pack launches for 360, PC, and PS3

Metro: Last Light’s first downloadable add-on, Faction Pack, is now available for consoles and PC. Developed by 4A Games, Faction Pack includes three new single-player missions, with one mission for each of the game’s main factions: the Rangers, the Redline, and the Reich. As a Polis Ranger, players must hunt for artifacts and relics in the library. The other two offer a chance to infiltrate a Reich oupost as a Redline sniper and hold the frontline as a Reich ‘heavy’.

inXile teams up with Deep Silver for Wasteland 2

inXile Entertainment has announced that they have partnered with Deep Silver in a new distribution deal for their upcoming role-playing game Wasteland 2. As one of two Kickstarter-funded titles, along with Torment: Tides of Numenera, there are a lot of extras needing to go out to a lot of backers. Deep Silver has signed on to not only handle the retail release but also the reward fulfillment for all campaign items. The Dead Island publisher will also assist with QA testing for the international versions.

Deep Silver is looking to expand the Metro: Last Light universe next week with the launch of Faction Pack. The 4A Games-developed drop will include three new single-player missions, each featuring a character from a different faction: a Redline Special Detachment Sniper tasked with infiltrating a Reich Outpost, a Reich ‘Heavy’ assigned with defending the Frontline, and a Polis Ranger on the hunt in the Library for artifacts and relics.

Mobius Trailer released for Metro: Last Light

Alexander Bereznyak, lead technical artist on Metro: Last Light, has finished work on a project showcasing the world of Metro, the Mobius trailer. Bereznyak began work on the three-minute clip when he was a capture artist at 4A Games and continued to work on it after moving positions. It’s a nice encapsulation of Last Light, with a series of shots following a handful of the remaining humans as they struggle to survive underground in makeshift cities against the violent mutated wildlife and one another.

Faction Pack is set to be the first out, and is scheduled to launch next month.

The follow-up to 2010’s Metro 2033, Last Light once again drives players into Moscow’s underground as mankind attempts to survive after a nuclear war has left the topside a radiated wasteland. The Metro system is home to numerous factions who have set up shop throughout the various hubs, battling roaming mutants and trying to find a mysterious doomsday weapon. As Artyom, players must navigate the chaos as they help to prevent a civil war.

Mind the tunnels, Metro: Last Light goes gold for consoles and PC

Post-apocalyptic first-person shooter Metro: Last Light, sequel to 2010’s Metro 2033, has gone gold for 360, PC, and PS3. Publisher Deep Silver has announced that the final version will be hitting store shelves on May 14. Gamers who pre-order before then will received a bump up to a limited edition that includes the Ranger Mode DLC, which ramps up the difficultly by removing the HUD, adding tougher enemies, and limiting the player’s resources. It’s not all bad news: the Russian AKSU rifle and 100 military-grade rounds will be added to the starting loadout.

Dead Island Riptide now available for 360, PC, and PS3

Publisher Deep Silver has announced the release of Techland’s latest zombie-rific action title Dead Island Riptide. Sequel to the 2011’s Dead Island, Riptide once again puts players in the shoes of stranded islanders attempting to make their escape as they try to survive a zombie apocalypse. New to the series is a fifth team member, dynamic weather conditions, co-op hub defense missions, and additional cop-op communication features.
