GOG.com made a slew of announcements today at the CDP summer conference. In addition to new additions to their digital library today, including the original Colonization, and three indie day-one releases, the company also slashed the price of The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition by 40%, making it an oh-so-affordable $29.99 for the next week.

Avernum: Great Trials Trilogy launches on Steam, now 20% off
Spiderweb Software continues to expand their presence on Steam with the release of Avernum: Great Trials Trilogy. The $11.99 bundle includes the last three releases in the Avernum series (4, 5, and 6). The three are within the same world as their predecessors but do not require prior experience, with the fourth entry taking place long after the third. Avernum 4 pits players against new monsters and assassins, against a re-emergent assassin threat in 5, and against a new foe, a race of barbarous lizards, in 6.

Wolfenstein 3D has turned 20! And I feel old! To properly celebrate the venerable series’ birthday, Bethesda and id have launched a new version of the original as a free-to-play browser-based game. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare PC pre-order deals announced
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, the standalone spin-off from series creator Remedy, is set to launch for PC on May 22. In anticipation of its release, both GOG and Steam are running pre-order discount specials of 10% off. Even better, both outlets are offering owners of the original Alan Wake an additional 15% off as well as 50% off the original itself, which comes bundled with all console DLC (only for 72 hours on Steam).

Dungeon Defenders gets free Holiday Extravaganza DLC on Steam
Trendy Entertainment is throwing down the holiday gauntlet with a new DLC pack for the Steam version of their tower defense- and action-RPG hybrid Dungeon Defenders. Ubisoft kicks off new sale on Steam with 33% to 75% off
Ubisoft and Steam have teamed up to offer a discount on some of the studio’s biggest franchises, as well as on some of their best one-offs (might we recommend the excellent R.U.S.E.?). The limited-time sale knocks 33% off the standard price, while the 14-title Holiday Pack offers an even steeper discount of 75%. The sale is currently running and will end on January 2.
