Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Dead Rising 2: Off The Record
Capcom is celebrating the ten-year anniversary of Dead Rising with the release of three newly updated titles: Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. They are offered on a variety of platforms, with a mixture of physical and digital releases. All of the titles come bundled with their associated downloadable content, and have been upgraded to run in 1080p at 60fps. That’s a lot of zombie slaying, but players have plenty of time to catch up with Frank West’s origins, and fellow protagonist Chuck Greene, before Dead Rising 4 launches on December 6.
Capcom is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Dead Rising by looking back to its past. Beginning on September 13, Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will launch digitally for Xbox One and, in their PlayStation debut, PS4. Not just that, but Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 will also get physical releases for console, while the original will be available on Steam for PC. All three re-releases will feature improved visuals with 1080p at 60fps as well as all downloadable content. Check out a spruced-up Frank West and Chuck Greene below in new pics and trailer.
Dead Rising 2 Off The Record received its second DLC pack today, the BBQ Chef Skills Pack. Following the Cyborg Skills Pack, the $1.99/160 MS Point culinary-themed release includes a full outfit, attack bonuses, and health modifiers.
Dead Rising 2 Off The Record will be mixing man with machine (and the elements) on October 25 with the Cyborg Skills Pack. The DLC release will add electricity damage to all regular attacks, increase melee attack damage, and increase damage output and magnify electric effects with appliances.
Frank West returns to the land of the undead today in Dead Rising 2: Off The Record for the 360, PC, and PS3. Off The Record is a reinterpretation of the events that occurred during Dead Rising 2. The Fortune City Outbreak has been expanded with the addition of new areas and missions as the perspective shifts to that of photojournalist Frank West, protagonist of the original Dead Rising.
