War returns! Darksiders Warmastered Edition released for Wii U

Link’s adventure won’t be the last for Wii U owners with the return of the first Horseman of the Apocalypse, War. The demon- and angel-slaying demigod is back in the digital and physical release of Darksiders Warmastered Edition. The $19.99 action-heavy adventure follows the horseman as he battles the forces of Heaven and Hell throughout a desolate Earth. The revamped version sports a higher resolution and other graphical as well as performance improvements.

Darksiders III sends Fury to take on the Seven Deadly Sins

THQ Nordic is returning to the Darksiders with the recently (and officially) revealed Darksiders III. The hack-and-slasher is currently in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and is scheduled for release in 2018. Gunfire Games, a studio said to be home to many of the franchise’s creators, is heading up development. In the new installment, players will take on the role of Fury, a mage that is ranked as the most powerful of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as she seeks to destroy the Seven Deadly Sins. The whip-wielding magician will find herself following the Charred Council’s orders into an open-world, ravaged Earth that’s been overrun by nature.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition out now for PS4, Xbox One

War returns to consoles today in Darksiders Warmastered Edition. The latest version of the action-adventure title is available for PS4 and Xbox One, and has been updated to support 4K at 60 frames per second. The PC version is following next Tuesday, while the Wii U version is still in the works and is set for release in the near future. As one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, players must battle their way through a world overrun by demons to take revenge on those who tricked them into bringing about Armageddon.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition goes 4K for PS4 Pro, trailer released

PS4 Pro owners will get a chance to flex their new system’s muscle with Darksiders Warmastered Edition. War’s adventure marks THQ Nordic’s first console game to support 4K. All versions will run at 1080p, while the PC and PS4 Pro versions will also run at 4K, with improved rendering, double the texture resolutions, and 60 frames per second (30 for Wii U). Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, The Dwarves, We Sing dated

THQ Nordic has announced the release dates of three of their upcoming titles: Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, The Dwarves and We Sing. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, a remastered version of the original, will ship on two dates, with the PS4, Wii U (digitally), and Xbox One versions first on November 22, and the PC version on November 29. A physical version for Wii U will be released at a later date. The Dwarves, an action role-playing game from King Art Games, is set to launch digitally and physically on December 1 for Linux, Mac, Windows PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Lastly, We Sing will be available on November 22 as a standalone release and as a bundle with two mics.

Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition launching Oct. 27, new shots posted

Death will be returning in a few weeks. Nordic Games has announced that Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition will launch worldwide on October 27. The included version of Darksiders II will be updated with support for 1080p, improved lighting and shadows, reworked character and environment graphics, and tuned game balancing and loot distribution. All downloadable content will also be included, which add new weapons, enemies, and more. Eight new comparison shots were also released, and more will be on display at 2 p.m. (CST) tomorrow during Gunfire Games’ streaming event at their official Twitch channel.

Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition announced for PS4, Xbox One

Nordic is bringing death back. Darksiders 2 will be returning for the new console generation as an updated bundle rerelease, Deathinitive Edition. In addition to upgraded graphics, the set will include all downloadable content: Argul’s Tomb, Fletcher’s Crow Hammer, Maker Armor Set, The Abyssal Forge, The Demon Lord Belial, Death Rides, Angel of Death, Deadly Despair, Mace Maximus, Shadow of Death, Mortis Pack, Rusanov’s Axe, and Van Der Schmash Hammer. The added content is said to push playtime to over 30 hours. The port is being handled by Gunfire Games, “where nearly all staffers have already been working at Vigil Games and on Darksiders in the past.” For those wanting a new adventure, fear not, Nordic has a new Darksiders in the works.

GOG adds Darksiders series, Metro: Last Light Redux, Saints Row 2, 3

GOG.com has added five titles to their library from Deep Silver and Nordic Games. Each title is on sale as part of a week-long discount to celebrate the deal, with DarkSiders 1 and 2 available for up to 75% off ($7.99, $11.99, respectively), Metro: Last Light Redux for 50% off ($12.49), Saints Row 2 for 60% off ($3.99), and Saints Row: The Third for 66% off ($4.99). All releases are available DRM-free, and as with other older titles, Saints Row 2 has been modified to work without issue on modern rigs.

Nordic Games acquires Darksiders, Red Faction, Titan Quest, more

Nordic Games snatched up some properties from the recent THQ auction. The Painkiller HD publisher acquired 150-plus SKUs for 4.9 million across all major consoles and PC. Darksiders, Frontlines, Full Spectrum Warrior, Juiced, MX vs. ATV, Red Faction, Stuntman, Supreme Commander, and Titan Quest are slated to join the JoWood and Dreamcatcher IPs already in Nordic’s stable. Don’t expect any major moves just yet, as Lars Wingefors, owner and CEO of Nordic Games, stated that they will not “dash into several self-financed multi-million dollar projects right away, but rather to continue our in-depth analysis of all titles” in regards to how to approach new installments from the acquired IPs.
