A new gameplay trailer and nearly 20 screenshots have been released from Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. The action spin-off from the popular visual novel series is set to come out later this summer, and the latest media shows off the murderous Warriors of Hope. The diminutive cult is ridding Towa City of adults in order to make it a paradise for kids, forcing the trapped Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa to fight their way out of the chaos.

NIS has announced that Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls will be hitting store shelves and PSN on September 1. Coinciding with the news is the first batch of localized screenshots, as well as a new trailer. Ultra Despair Girls takes a turn away from the visual-novel style of the first two games and is instead an action title that follows Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa. The two must escape Towa, a city overrun by despair … and hundreds of Monokumas.

NIS reveals Danganronpa Another Episode, Rodea the Sky Soldier

NIS held their press event recently and released new trailers and screens for four upcoming titles, two of which were revealed at the show. New Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair screenshots showcase several new gameplay elements. Hangman’s Gambit, which was in the original, is being revamped for the sequel with linked words becoming increasingly unstable and potentially explosive if not used. Rebuttal Showdown now allows the other characters to interrupt the player’s arguments in one-on-one debates, and an entirely new trial addition, Logic Dive has the player skateboarding through a glowing path as they attempt to stay on the right path during their argument.

NIS has announced that the ultimate students will be getting another shot at freedom on September 2 when Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair launches in stores and online. New screenshots were released of the new cast, including the ultimate yakuza and ultimate swordswoman.

NIS has released Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, a new investigative adventure visual novel for PS Vita. Released in Japan for PSP in 2010, the localized version follows the same storyline with players assuming the role of Makoto Naegi, a student at Hope’s Peak Academy who must investigate a series of murders to find out which student is the guilty party. On a slight twist to the traditional whodunit, the school is locked down by a crazy bear named Monokuma, who serves as the judge and jailer, promising freedom to the person who can murder without getting caught. Naegi must gather evidence for both the ongoing trial and to discover who is holding them hostage before time runs out.
