Styx explores Korrangar in new Styx: Shards of Darkness screens

Cyanide Studios has released some new screenshots from Styx: Shards of Darkness. The sequel to Master of Shadows, launching early 2017, once again finds Styx on a mission to acquire more Amber by doing what he does best: stealing. This time, it’s an ambassador’s scepter. The four screens showcase the Port of Korrangar, a heavily guarded waystation for airships. The sequel will feature a crafting system for traps and devices, a teleport ability, and an emphasis on non-linear play with an open-ended approach to tackling objectives.

Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu gameplay debuted in E3 trailer

Cyanide Studio’s Call of Cthulhu, an upcoming adaptation of Chaosium’s pen-and-paper role-playing game, just received a new trailer. Created for E3, the video highlights what is in store for players in a macabre 1920’s Boston. As private investigator Edward Pierce, players will look into the murder of Sarah Hawkins on Darkwater Island. Cthulhu’s influence will gradually grow stronger as Pierce pokes his nose around the island and the Hawkins Family Mansion, and the closer he finds himself to the Great Old One’s influence, the more his sanity will be tested.

The first goblin returns in Styx: Shards of Darkness for console, PC

Styx is showing the goods from his upcoming title Shards of Darkness in a new E3 trailer. The sequel to Master of Shadows finds Styx taking on a new assignment for Helledryn, an enigmatic human officer stationed in Thoben, the City of Thieves. The target is the ambassador’s scepter, a prized object that others are looking to steal for themselves. If Styx can get his hands on it, he’ll get some of the magical amber that fuels his powers. The different races require different skills as each excels in their own areas, with Dark Elves being expert goblin hunters and Dwarves having an excellent sense of smell. To handle them, players will have access to numerous powers, talents, crafting, and equipment. And assassination, there’s always that.

New gameplay footage released from Space Hulk: Deathwing

The heretical voices have been temporarily silenced, but Genestealers still threaten the Imperium. The Emperor wills their eradication, and a new Space Hulk: Deathwing gameplay trailer from developer Streum On Studio will show players the way. The upcoming first-person shooter is an adaptation of the Space Hulk boardgame, and the latest video offers a look at how they modeled the rules for the digital version, with info on enemies, squadmates, and the localised damaged system. As a Librarians, players will search the Olethros with an AI squad to hunt down relics and Genestealers in a story co-written by Gavin Thorpe.

The Reikland Reavers show off their moves in Blood Bowl 2 trailer

Cyanide has rolled out the first gameplay footage from Blood Bowl 2. The video features the human Reikland Reavers squaring off against orcs, demonstrating some of the 75 different skills. There’s also a glimpse of what the new engine brings to the series, including cheering fans, a dynamic camera, and improved animations. Genestealers closing in! New Space Hulk: Deathwing trailer released

Focus Home has released a new trailer for Streum On’s Space Hulk: Deathwing, a new first-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The Summer Trailer was created using UE4 engine and features a Librarian of the Deathwing, the game’s protagonist, battling a wave of Genestealers alongside his fellow Deathwing Terminators squadmates. As a loyal Librarian of the Emperor of Mankind, players will travel through the chaotic Warp to battle Genestealers as they gather relics, unlock new weapons, and evolve through four skill trees.

The 200-year-old Styx is a practiced assassin and expert thief, and his latest goal is the Amber stored within the heavily guarded Tower of Akenash. Being the rogue that he is, the teaser’s minute-plus of footage features Styx stealing from and taking down the elves and humans that patrol the tower.

Goblins to get their time in the spotlight in Styx: Master of Shadows

Of Orcs and Men’s goblin trickster Styx will be starring in his own adventure for PC, Styx: Master of Shadows. As the 200-year-old thief, players must sneak into the Tower of Akenash to steal its precious Amber. The tower is miles high and heavily guarded, so Styx will need to undertake missions to reach the top, including stealing precious artifacts and assassinating its human and elven inhabitants. Cyanide plans for the action to be open and fluid, with levels designed so that players have numerous ways to accomplish their tasks, while a six-skill-tree system allows players to customize Styx’s talents. A dynamic AI will require that Styx stick to the shadows, but from there, he can lay traps to make a guard’s death look like an accident—or toss caution to the wind and just stab them (he is a dirty, dirty goblin after all).
