This War of Mine – The Little Ones DLC now available for PC

11 bit studios has released a new downloadable pack for This War of Mine, The Little Ones. The drop shifts the player’s perspective to a group of adults that are tasked with taking care of children. Stuck in a besieged city, players must once again guide a beleaguered group through the chaos of war. Caring for the children will require a different approach from the base game, as adults will need to build toys and play games with them. The studio also announced that they’ve helped to raise over $137,000 for the War Child charity, and that every dollar from the pack will go towards the fund.

Dragon Quest Builders coming this October for PS4, PS Vita

The 30th anniversary of Dragon Quest is being celebrated with a new release, Dragon Quest Builders. Currently available in Japan, North American players will get their chance to dive into the ‘building adventure’ this October. Similar to other sandbox builders, players gather and combine resources from throughout the world to create tools, materials, and other items to construct buildings. In this case, it’s to rebuild the destroyed realm of Alefgard. Along the way, they will meet other characters and monsters from throughout the series as they help townsfolk and battle those responsible for their plight, Dragonlord and his monster army.

Monster Hunter Generations, themed New Nintendo 3DS XL dated

Monster Hunter Generations will be available online and in stores on July 15. In addition to the game, a new themed system will also be landing on store shelves, the New Nintendo 3DS XL Monster Hunter Generations Edition. The system features a design based on the Fated Four, a group of powerful new monsters. Note that the game is not included with the system. Gamers can, however, try the game out prior to launch with an upcoming playable demo. Details about it should be along shortly.

Monster Hunter Generations’ Styles detailed, displayed in trailer

Monster Hunter Generations’ new Styles mechanics have been demonstrated in a new trailer and screenshots. Styles allow access to different Hunter Arts—chargeable skills and power-ups—and come in four forms: Adept, Aerial, Guild, and Striker. Adept offers additional blocking and dodging options based on the equipped weapon; Aerial adds a new jumping ability so that players can attack from above, and have more chances to mount and knock down monsters; Guild reverts to Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate-style gameplay for all weapons; and Striker is all about building up powerful attacks. PAX attendees will get a chance to check the game out for themselves in four-player co-op sessions at Capcom’s Booth (#3117).

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book LE detailed

NIS has announced that Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book Limited Edition is now available for pre-order. The PS4 craft-heavy role-playing game will be available as a $99.99 limited edition that includes a copy of the game, a 48-page hardcover art book, a 2-disc soundtrack with a total of 38 tracks, a 40”x26” cloth poster, five 5”x7” mini art prints, and a collector’s box. Monster Hunter Generations launching this summer for 3DS

Monster Hunter X will be coming stateside this summer as Monster Hunter Generations. The game features callbacks to previous entries with popular areas and monsters returning in an updated form to fit with the new content. As a hunter, players seek out and take down giant beasts, earning Zenny and gathering the resources necessary to craft better armor and weapons. Amidst the hunting trips, four villages also need to be protected from new threats known as the Fated Four. There is a greater emphasis on customization this time around, with Styles and Hunter Arts. Unique playstyles can be molded by choosing moves from four different combat Styles, while Hunter Arts add new skills and power-ups. In Prowler Mode, players get to play as a Felyne for the first time, complete with unique quests.

MS acquires MinecraftEdu, announces Minecraft: Education Edition

Microsoft is expanding Minecraft’s presence in education with the acquisition of MinecraftEdu. The version, specifically built for classrooms, is being enhanced, renamed, and re-released as Minecraft: Education Edition. The announcement notes that an advisory board of educators is going to assist in the evolution of the product, and that a free trial will be available worldwide this summer. A new site is launching as well, which will feature lesson plans and other resources, including Minecraft Mentors, a program that will allow those who are about to introduce the title to their classroom the chance to reach out to experienced educators.

Console versions of Minecraft get new items, mobs, fixes, and more

The console edition of Minecraft received a significant update today. In addition to a number of tweaks to enchanting, fishing, crafting, etc., the patch also brings with it dozens of new pieces of content. Over 30 items, 20-plus blocks, five mobs, and nine biomes are included in the patch. A new tutorial has also been created to acclimate players to all of the additions and changes. Holiday Skins Pack brings the jolly to Minecraft Windows 10, Pocket

Mojang and Microsoft are kicking off the holidays with the Holiday Skins Pack for Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta and Minecraft: Pocket Edition. Skins include Father Christmas, Santa Claus, a Red Nose, and more. Check out the full list below. The pack is $1.99, while two skins, Jumper and Warm Wooly, are free. Teams from both studios will also be getting in the spirit this Friday when they host a livestream, starting at noon, at Mojang’s official Youtube channel.

Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town on Wii U Virtual Console

Natsume has released Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town on the Wii U Virtual Console. The Game Boy Advance title is a follow-up to Back to Nature that includes new events, features, and mini-games. As a new arrival in a small town, players take on the task of turning their dilapidated farm around by planting and harvesting crops and raising animals. Along the way, they are able to meet and befriend the local townsfolk, and if all goes well, even get married and start a family.
