WayForward’s DuckTales updated re-release, DuckTales: Remastered, is now available for 360. The $14.99 download is an update to the 1989 NES original with hand-drawn and animated sprites, rerecorded dialog with the original voice cast, and a new tutorial level. The gameplay remains the same, however, with players controlling Scrooge McDuck and his nephews (Huey, Dewey, and Louie) as they search for five priceless treasures.

Lost Planet 3 ships to retail for consoles, PC

Capcom has announced that Lost Planet 3 has shipped to retail for 360, PC, and PS3. The latest entry in the seven-year-old series finds players in the shoes of Utility Rig pilot and NEVEC employee Jim Peyton on the frozen planet of E.D.N. III. Tasked with mining the planet’s powerful Thermal Energy in order to stave off an energy crisis on Earth, players soon run into problems as the dangerous indigenous Akrids, tumultuous weather, and the planet’s colonial history force Peyton to fight for his life. Multiplayer is also supported for up to 10 players.

Capcom has announced the release dates for Way Forward’s upcoming DuckTales updated re-release, DuckTales: Remastered. There are actually two different release dates for the download-only title: August 13 for the PC, PS3, and Wii U versions and September 11 for the 360 version. The game is an update to the 1989 NES original, with the 8-bit graphics replaced with hand-drawn and animated sprites and the original voice cast reprising their roles. A new tutorial level is also being added.

E.D.N. III’s deadly chill highlighted in new trailer for Lost Planet 3

Lost Planet 3 protagonist Jim Peyton’s trials are highlighted in a new video from Capcom. New DuckTales: Remastered trailer, screenshots released

Capcom has released a new video for their upcoming platformer DuckTales: Remastered. The trailer features Launchpad in a video postcard to Scrooge giving gamers tips for making their way through a dangerous mine. Another video has been posted as well, a behind-the-scenes look from developers WayForward. In the latter video, gamers get a peek at what it took for the studio to create the game’s hand-drawn sprites in a new five-minute entry in their Duckumentary series.

Capcom’s fantastic action-RPG Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen has launched on Live Games on Demand for $39.99. The re-release of 2012’s Dragon’s Dogma includes the base game plus over 100 new weapons and pieces of armor, new skills and augments, as well as a new area, Bitterblack Isle. The island includes new high-level quests and enemies, and is accessible from the game’s starting area.

Strider announced for current and next-gen consoles, PC

Famed ninja Strider Hiryu is set to return next year in a brand-new adventure, according to Capcom. Scheduled to launch for 360, PC, PS3, PS4, and Xbox One, Strider is a new take on the long-dormant series. Set in the year Meio: 048, players are tasked with tracking down and defeating the tyrannical Grand Master Meio as a recent recipient of the rare Special A-Class from the Strider training program. To topple the regime, players must battle their way through the city of Kazakh, an open urban environment that will be freely explorable. As with the previous entries in the series, combat will be fast and fluid, mixing platforming elements with melee combat and high-tech weaponry.

Ultra Street Fighter IV announced for consoles and PC, coming 2014

Capcom took the opportunity at last weekend’s fighting game tournament EVO 2013 to announce a new iteration of Street Fighter IV, Ultra Street Fighter IV. Set to launch early next year for 360, PC, and PS3, Ultra will add five new characters, including Elena, Hugo, Poison, and Rolento, as well as six new stages, new modes, and rebalanced gameplay. According to Capcom, the development team took direct fan feedback from Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition into account when they were making adjustments to the core engine.
