Strider to launch next week for current and next-gen consoles, PC

Strider Hiryu will once again set out against the forces of evil next week when the Double Helix-developed Strider launches on Live, PSN, and Steam. The PS3 and PS4 versions will be first out of the gate on February 18, with the PC, 360, and Xbox One versions will follow the day after. Also announced is the inclusion of two new Challenge Modes to accompany Story Mode, the speed-run-style race Beacon Run and the wave-based trial Survival Mode. A global online leaderboard will track player stats across all modes.

Capcom releasing Resident Evil 4 for PC next month, pre-order up

A new high-definition version of Resident Evil 4 will be available for PC next month, according to Capcom. Scheduled for release on February 28, North American gamers will be able to download the re-release off Steam. This updated version will feature “HD running at a smooth 60 frames per second for the first time,” plus sharpened text, improved textures, wide-screen support, and all previously released content, including the Separate Ways epilogue, and game controller support. A pre-order campaign has launched on Steam as well, with early buyers receiving two digital extras: a 60-track soundtrack and an art book.

Dead Rising 3: Operation Broken Eagle DLC delayed until January

Operation Broken Eagle, Dead Rising 3’s first downloadable episode, has been delayed until 2014. Originally scheduled to launch on December 24, players will now have to wait until January 21 to save the President from the undead hordes. According to the release, the decision to push back the launch date was “to ensure we provide the best possible experience for players” by “putting a few additional weeks of polish and testing into the episode before it’s released.”

Ultra Street Fighter IV gets Online Training and Team Battle modes

Capcom revealed some new information about Ultra Street Fighter IV this past weekend during their Capcom Cup event in San Francisco. The last mystery character was not announced, unfortunately, but the good news is that two modes have been added: Online Training Mode and Team Battle Mode. The former will allow players to spar with one another online, while the latter will add 3v3 matches to online play. New screenshots were also released, showing more of the 44-character roster battling it out in some of the six new stages.

Dead Rising 3 will be receiving its inaugural DLC pack on December 24, the first part of the Untold Stories of Los Perdidos. As special ops commander Adam Kane, players will seek out the missing President in the five-mission Operation Broken Eagle. The drop will also include five new weapons, a new combo weapon, a new vehicle, and a new outfit. Any experienced earned will also transfer back to the original campaign. And for gamers who haven’t tried Dead Rising 3, a 20-minute timed demo is now available on Live.

Dead Rising 3 splatters zombie mess onto store shelves for Xbox One

Launching today alongside the Xbox One is Capcom’s latest zombie slasher (and basher and drive-over-er) Dead Rising 3. The One exclusive features an open world filled with the undead that players must navigate as Nick Ramos, who must battle enemies amongst the living and the dead as he navigates Los Perdidos alongside fellow survivors. Players will once again be able to use anything not nailed down as a weapon, craft new gear and more powerful arsenals, and hop into abandoned vehicles to get about the packed streets.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies’ first DLC case, Turnabout Reclaimed, is now available for download. The $5.99 full-length episode, purchasable from the in-game menu, features a new client, the pirate Sasha Buckler. As the first case Wright takes after reclaiming his Attorney’s badge, he must help defend Buckler’s stylish killer whale companion against a murder charge. The Mood Matrix and Psyche-Lock, introduced in Dual Destinies, will come into play, and Pearl Fey will return to help the Anything team against prosecutor Simon Blackquill.
