Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Awakening launches on PSN for PS4

Treyarch has released their latest download pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Awakening, for PS4. The drop includes four new multiplayer maps, including a re-imagined version of Black Ops II’s Hijacked, and a chapter for Zombies, Der Eisendrache. Der Eisendrache is the first in a four-part series that sees the return of Origin characters Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo, and Dempsey. Details for all additions can be found below.

The Replacer’s back to sell Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Awakening

Treyarch’s brought back an old acquaintance to promote the new Awakening DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The Replacer Returns sees Peter Stormare (Fargo, The Blacklist) reprising his role as series pitchman and going through a bizarre sequence of events that sees him walking dogs, cooking, and modeling. Awakening is set to hit on February 2 for PS4 with four new multiplayer maps and a new Zombies mission, Der Eisendrache.

Black Ops III – Awakening: Der Eisendrach trailer released

The official trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Awakening: Der Eisendrache has gone live. The first downloadable chapter in the latest Zombies mode adds Origin characters Dempsey, Nicolai, Richtofen, and Takeo. The group must explore a medieval castle that’s been built on a deposit of Element 115, and survive the ensuing onslaught of monsters. Awakening will be released first for PS4 on February 2.

Activision Blizzard acquires Major League Gaming

Activision Blizzard is expanding their eSport footprint with the acquisition of Major League Gaming. MLG is over 12 years old with over nine million registered users, and hosts more than 180 players throughout its operated events. The league’s live-streaming capabilities will be used to augment Activision Blizzard’s Media Networks division. According to the announcement, MLG will still run MLG.tv, MLG Pro Circuit, and GameBattles, as well as continue working with its current partners and other publishers.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Awakening hitting PS4 on February 2

Awakening, the first downloadable pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, will be making its debut on PSN for PS4 on February 2. Four maps will be included, detailed below: Gauntlet, Splash, Rise, and a reimagined map from Black Ops II, Skyjacked. Players will find themselves in a military training facility that hosts multiple environments, an abandoned water park, and a construction site. In addition, Zombies’ downloadable story is being introduced with the first chapter, Der Eisendrache. Four characters—Dempsey, Richtofen, Nicolai, and Takeo—must fight their way through a medieval castle built on a cursed site.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III video details Black Market update

Activision has released a new trailer for the latest Black Market update for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Supply Drops are now packed new taunts, head and body variants for Specialists, camo, and three melee weapons (Brass Knuckles, Butterfly Knight, and Wrench). Drops are called using earned Cryptokeys, but a new optional virtual currency is being introduced, Call of Duty Points, to get Rare Supply Drops. To introduce the currency, anyone who logs into the game will receive a gift of 200 Points. Treyarch has posted an article detailing the additions.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III now available for console, PC

Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III has launched online and in stores. Set 50 years into the future, soldiers are heavily altered by bio-technology and cybernetic enhancements, allowing them to utilize the entry’s signature addition, a new momentum-based movement system. The campaign, as with all modes, is playable online, and up to four players will be able to go through the story together. Multiplayer also features a Specialist system, with players choosing from nine different soldiers who have their own set of unique customization unlocks. Weapon customization has also been given a bump via Gunsmith, allowing for custom paint jobs access to a more advanced emblem editor. eSport features have been implemented, such as Theater, as has a new loot system, the Black Market. Lastly, Zombies returns with Shadows of Evil, a new campaign featuring four strangers making their way through a noir-film-inspired world, and Zombies also return in the main campaign once players finish the game.

Jordan introducing and Marshawn Lynch awing at Kevin, the everyday player who is utilizing some of the new maneuvers and skills to navigate around and take down zombies and mechs. Treyarch has released a new trailer for the Nuk3town Bonus Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The Black Ops map returns redesigned for 2065, with structures laid out to support the new momentum-based, chained-movement system. Nuk3town is a pre-order bonus for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions.
