Call of Duty: Black Ops II multiplayer trailer released
Activision has released a new multiplayer reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Treyarch’s next entry in the franchise will be set in the year 2025 as the world lumbers towards a new Cold War. It’s a world of robots, drones, and high-tech gear. Black Ops II will also feature a branching storyline with non-linear missions, a first for the series.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies debuts for Android on Xperia line
The on-the-go Zombies mobile spin-off, Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies, has launched for Android. The Ideaworks-developed and Glu Mobile-published App is available now on the Sony Xperia line of smart phones and Xperia Play Optimized devices exclusively for 30 days, and will then be available for other Android handhelds. Zombies includes the maps Ascension and Kino der Toten, as well as Call of the Dead: Director’s Cut and the 50-level top-down shooter Dead-Ops Arcade.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Content Collections 3, 4 detailed
Activision is set to wrap up the latest season of content drops for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 with the last two Content Collections, Collection #3: Chaos Pack and Collection #4: Final Assault. The collections will launch on the 360 first, with Chaos Pack set to hit Live on August 9 and Final Assault on September 6. Each pack is detailed below, but a quick takeaway is that Chaos Pack focuses on missions, with the new Chaos Mode for Special Ops, four new Special Ops Missions, and three new Face Off maps, while the multiplayer-centric Final Assault will include five new multiplayer maps.

Activision launches Call of Duty summer sale, 50% off DLC
Call of Duty fans looking to catch up on DLC are in luck. Activision has kicked off a one-week summer promotion that slashes 50% off of the price of all previously released DLC packs for Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops. Sale items include the two Content Collections and some extraterrestrial zombie-blasting. The promo is currently running for both 360 and PS3 as well as PC.

Free-to-play Call of Duty Online heading to China
Activision has announced that they have teamed up with Tencent Holdings Limited to launch Call of Duty Online in China. The multi-year agreement grants Tencent the exclusive license to operate Call of Duty Online, a free-to-play shooter with a microtransaction-based monetization system, in mainland China. The game will feature an original story based around Special Ops missions, a variety of modes and maps, perks specifically tailored to the Chinese market, as well as an in-game store to personalize weapons, characters, and gear.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #2 is now available for the 360. The 1200 MS Point/$14.99 compilation, detailed below, includes five new maps (Foundation, Getaway, Lookout, Oasis, Sanctuary) as well as two new Special Ops missions (Iron Clad, Kill Switch). Locales include a vacation spot on the beach and a devastated mountainside in the Face Off maps Getaway and Sanctuary, while Oasis hosts players in a retrofitted ancient stone fortress and Iron Clad features a playable Abrams-class tank.
