Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Call of Duty Elite
The first Content Season for Call of Duty Elite has officially kicked off with the release of two new multiplayer maps, Liberation and Piazza. The maps are the first two of at least 20 DLC content drops that will be launching over the next nine months during season one. Elite members playing over Live can grab the maps now, while PC and PS3 gamers will be able to download them later on.
Infinity Ward and crew are kicking off the new Content Season of Modern Warfare 3 later this month with two new multiplayer and Survival Mode maps for Call of Duty Elite members. Xbox Live members who subscribe to Elite will be able to download Liberation and Piazza on January 24, the first of at least 20 “content drops” for the ongoing nine-month-long season. Elite members playing on other platforms will be able to download the maps “at a later time.”
After shattering pre-order records, including those set by its predecessors, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is now on store shelves. Co-developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, Modern Warfare 3 is a continuation of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops being something of a side story, which sees the world edging towards World War III. While the single-player campaign continues the series’ thematic tradition of all-out war with a new Survival Mode, multiplayer is being beefed up with a revamped pointstreak system, new Strike Packages, new weapons, new equipment, and new modes, including Kill Confirmed.
Call of Duty Elite will bid adieu to beta at noon (Pacific) today and continue on its development path. The Connect, Compete, and Improve sections have been closed in preparation for the official launch on November 8. However, everyone will soon be able to access the Career page for Black Ops later this week.
