Mass Effect Trilogy to kick off N7 Day festivities, bring original to PS3
EA has announced that they will be inaugurating the first annual N7 Day, a celebration of all things Mass Effect, with a new collection for 360, PC, and PS3. The release of Mass Effect Trilogy, available November 6 for $59.99, will not only be the first of many N7 Day events, but it also marks the first time that the original Mass Effect will be available for PS3. Additionally, for PS3 gamers who already own the second and third titles, the original will be available on PSN.

Dragon Age III: Inquisition announced for 2013 release
BioWare has announced that the next installment in the Dragon Age series, Dragon Age III: Inquisition, will be hitting store shelves in late 2013. Aaryn Flynn of BioWare has stated that Inquisition has already been in development for nearly two years and that, per feedback, BioWare Edmonton and Montreal are creating a larger world with a greater emphasis on customization. He went on to say that combat will be “both tactical and visceral.”

Wii U set to launch for $299.99, $349.99 on November 18
Nintendo has detailed the North American launch of the Wii U today. The system will be available on November 18 in two versions, the $299.99 Basic Set and the $349.99 Deluxe Set. A full list of the 50-plus launch-window titles was also provided.

Star Wars: The Old Republic to embrace free-to-play model this fall
Star Wars: The Old Republic, BioWare’s take on a Star Wars MMO, will be going free-to-play this fall. Well, partly. The game will actually add a free-to-play option, with diehard fans able to keep their subscription for unrestricted access to all content as well as some of the new in-game currency, Cartel Coins. The free option will allow players access to each of the eight characters, though there will be a level limit (50) and restrictions on advanced features and accessing new content. For the free players who want a little more, Cartel Coins can be used to unlock some of the premium material.

Mass Effect 3 to get free multiplayer DLC pack, Earth, next week
Mass Effect 3: Earth, the next free DLC drop, will be hitting Live Arcade, Origin, and PSN next week. Earth, detailed below, will include three new maps, six new N7 characters, three new weapons, 12 new modifications, 11 new upgrades, new platinum difficulty, and new in-mission objectives—whew.

Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut DLC launches for consoles, PC
The epilogue DLC announced to address fans’ concerns over the ending of Mass Effect 3, Extended Cut, has launched for 360, PC, and PS3. The free download adds new cinematic sequences and scenes as to offer fans “deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes.”

Mass Effect 3 to host new bounty event, Operation Shieldwall
BioWare has announced another Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Weekend event, Operation Shieldwall. Kicking off this Friday at 6 p.m. (PST) and ending on Monday 5 a.m. (PST), 360, PC, and PS3 players will get a chance to score a Victory Pack and a Commendation Pack.

Mass Effect 3 to host weekend multiplayer event, Operation Silencer
EA and BioWare are running a new Multiplayer Weekend event for Mass Effect 3. Dubbed Operation Silencer, the event will run from 6 p.m. (PST) on Friday, May 11 to 5 a.m. (PST) on Monday, May 14. The event is comprised of two challenges, one kill count and one survival. Allies who take down 3,000,000 banshees will receive a Victory Pack, while those that survival until a full extraction on any of the maps on gold difficulty will receive a Commendation Pack.
