Dishonored to get Dunwall City Trials in December, more DLC in ’13
Bethesda has announced the first of three downloadable add-ons for Arkane Studios’ recently released action title Dishonored. The Dunwall City Trials pack, set to launch in December for 400 MS Point/$4.99, will include 10 challenge maps centered on arena battles, drop assassinations, and time trials. Each challenge will also have its own global leaderboard.

Doom 3 BFG Edition now available for 360, PC, and PS3
After eight years, Doom 3 returns to store shelves today as Doom 3 BFG Edition. The enhanced re-release features updated versions of the 2004 original and its Resurrection of Evil expansion, as well as a new eight-level chapter called The Lost Missions. Old and new content alike support 3D, improved rendering and lighting, a new checkpoint save system, and 5.1 surround sound. As an added bonus, the collection also includes classic versions of Doom and Doom II.

Dishonored now available in stores, online for consoles and PC
After crawling, stabbing, and immolating its way out of pressing, Arkane Studios’ Dishonored is now on store shelves. The first-person supernatural shooter features betrayed assassin Corvo seeking revenge against those who double-crossed him. Players are able to mix sword fighting with gunplay and magic as they make their way across a dystopian world, where every decision has a consequence that affects their ending. Personally, I let the future worry about itself and enjoy present by sicking plague-infected rats on people. But to each their own.

Arkane Studios to host Dishonored midnight launch event
Gamers in the Austin, Texas area will have a chance to meet members of Arkane Studios tonight at a special might launch event for Dishonored. The team will be on-hand to meet fans and sign copies at the GameStop in the Arboretum at Great Hills, starting at 10:00 pm. The game will go on sale at 12:01 am, but it will pay to get there early because giveaways begin at 10 and team members will also hand out special themed masks to the first 45 people in line. Bethesda continues Texas invasion with Battlecry Studios
Bethesda Softworks has announced that their development empire is expanding today with the launch of Battlecry Studios. Battlecry is being helmed by ex-Bioware’ian Rich Vogel and is located in Austin, Texas, the same city that hosts fellow ZeniMax-owned developer Arkane Studios. Vogel has been in the industry over 20 years and has had a hand in the creation and production of several MMOs, including Star Wars: The Old Republic and Ultima Online: The Second Age.

If the home is where the heart is, then Skyrim now owns your heart and your soul. Hearthfire, available today on Live Marketplace for 360 (400 MS Points), allows players to buy a plot of land and construct their own home. Homes can be customized and expanded to include several room types, including an armory, garden, kitchen, and stable.

Bethesda is following Dawnguard, Skyrim’s first DLC release, with something slightly different. In Hearthfire, players will be able to buy a plot of land on which they can build and customize their own home.
