Tales of Berseria is set to be released next January in North America, according to Namco Bandai. The PS4 version will debut first, on January 24, with the PC version following a few days later, January 27, on Steam. The upcoming entry follows Velvet, a “tortured soul who acts purely on instinct as she sets out on a quest for revenge.” A $149.99 Collector’s Edition was also announced for PS4. It will be limited to 10,000 and come bundled with several extras: a Velvet and Laphicet Chibi Kyun Chara figures, 8-bit retro keychain set, music CD with selected tracks, hardcover prequel novel (A Witch’s Tale: A World Full of Daemons), set of trading cards, starter strategy guide artbook, and themed SteelBook case.

Scheduled to launch early next year, digitally and physically**, players will find themselves in a Digital World under assault by Machinedramons. After being rescued by two Digimon, the newcomer, now male or female, must set out with their two heroes to repay the favor by uncovering the origins of the Machinedramons while also searching for a way home. Over 200 Digimon will be roaming about for players to recruit, train, and lead.
Monster-munching action-crafter God Eater 2: Rage Burst has been released for PC, PS4, and PS Vita. The game takes place three years after the events of Resurrection, as a red rain spreads a deadly disease known as the Black Plague. To stop the pandemic, players join a special unit, Blood. The group’s affiliation with the Fenrir Organization grants them access to God Arc weapons, which are capable of destroying and consuming the monstrous Aragami. With up to three friends, players use the weapons to clear the land, gaining access to more than 100 Blood Arts in their quest to save mankind. Resurrection is also available on Steam today, and as with the console version, is included with every copy of Rage Burst.
Bandai Namco has detailed the first downloadable add-on for Dark Souls III, Ashes of Ariandel. The first of two expansions, Ashes of Ariandel will send players to the frozen realm of Ariandel to uncover the evil behind the land’s woes. The journey will feature new armor sets, enemies, magic, weapons, and (undetailed) multiplayer features. Events will also expand on the overarching storyline. A batch of screenshots, along with a trailer, were released to offer an early look at the new quest.
Tekken 7’s roster expanded today with news that Lee Chaolan is being added to the cast. Not just Lee, either, but also his alter ego Violet. Adopted by Heihachi and raised to be the rival of Kazuya, Lee went on to form a robotics company. As Heihachi and Kazuya continue their war, Lee waits for his moment to strike. Lee’s is just one of several plotlines that are set to play out during Tekken 7’s Story Mode.
A.W.: Phoenix Festa, a “simulation action” visual novel title, has gone live on PSN for PS Vita. Set in a world devastated by an apocalyptic event, the Invertia, six academies compete for prominence in the last remaining megacity, Asterisk. Players take on the role of a student, either Ayato or an original character, who must live out the days of a teenager while practicing for the upcoming competition. On their way to one of several endings, players will build relationships and train in combat. The game is based on the Japanese light novel The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water.
Tekken series director Katsuhiro Harada was on-hand at this year’s Evo to reveal two more characters from Tekken 7’s roster: Bob and Master Raven.
