Tekken 7 launching early ’17 for console, PC, TTT2 free for Live Gold

Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Tekken 7. The video coincides with the news that the game will be released in early 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Currently in development under franchise director Katsuhiro Harada, the home port will feature several additions over the arcade version, including Story Mode, which will host seven new characters alongside Street Fighter’s Akuma. The storyline will follow the struggle between members of the Mishima clan. To celebrate the announcement, and so players can take advantage of its recent addition to the list of Backward Compatible titles, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be free for a limited time for Xbox Live Gold members, starting today at 1 p.m. (CST) until June 21 at 5:00 a.m. (CST).

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs-Force will be arriving stateside as a digital-only release on July 12 for PS Vita. Along with the date, nine new playable characters were revealed: 00 Gundam, Barbatos 1st Form, Barbatos 4th Form, Destiny Gundam (Heine), Gundam GP02, Mack Knife, Master Gundam, Strike Freedom, and Turn X. A new trailer and nearly 20 screenshots showing the characters in action, along with the new Force Attack mechanic, have also been posted.

Tekken 7: The King of the Iron Fist Tournament 2016 – NA detailed

Bandai Namco has revealed details about the first North American Tekken 7 tournament. The King of the Iron Fist Tournament 2016 – North America will take place throughout the year in 18 cities across the US and Canada. The tournament began on February 19 at Wizard World in Portland, OR and will run through November 6, ending at the Wizard World Comic Con and Gaming Tour in Pittsburg, PA. As an aside, the release also noted that event locations will be the only way North American players will be able to try the arcade version. The full schedule has been posted below.

Two new characters have been revealed from Tales of Berseria. Three screenshots highlight the half-siblings Teresa Linares and Oscar Dragonia. The duo are from the Abbey, the power behind the Holy Midgand Empire. The order battles those humans who have succumbed to the Daemonblight disease and turned into daemons. Oscar Dragonia is a Praetor exorcist from an aristocratic family, while his older half-sister, Teresa Linares, is also a Praetor and governs the town of Hellawes.

Dungeon-crawler Ray Gigant now available on PSN for PS Vita

acttil has released a new digital-only dungeon crawler for PS Vita, Ray Gigant. The PS TV-compatible release, developed by Bandai Namco and Experience Inc., follows three characters—Ichiya, Kyle, and Nil—as they battle an alien invasion by Gigants. Each character has their own story arc that will reveal different elements about the invasion and ongoing operations, with all three coming together for the end. Combat involves a rhythm-based system, with special powers unlocking as beats are hit on time, and is augmented by new powers that are unlocked along a three-branch skill tree.

FromSoftware is back with a new teeth-gritting adventure for souls fans. Today marks the first of several sick days for many a people with the release of Dark Souls III. As the Champion of Ash, players must traverse the world of Lothric, avoiding its many traps and tackling the numerous enemies within, to unite the five Lords of Cinder to stave off the Age of Dark. Multiplayer also returns, allowing players to once again leave messages for fellow adventurers, summon or be summoned to lend a hand, and invade to pick a fight. Today’s been a trailer-heavy day, and Bandai Namco is adding one more with a new video for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven. The latest footage from the upcoming CyberConnect2-developed fighter shines the spotlight on seven new playable characters. The brawlers are from the second chapter, Battle Tendency, of the manga: Joseph Joestar, Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli, Lisa Lisa, Rudol Von Stroheim, Kars, Esidisi, and Wammu.
