Relive Tekken 1-3 with the 8-bit debut of video series Retro Recap

Namco is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Tekken franchise with a new history-of video series. This latest series is to get everyone up to speed for Tekken 7, given the numerous plot twists, but to keep things manageable, the videos are covering a few entries at a time. The debut covers Tekken 1-3. Given those are a bit older now, it’s done in a gussied-up 8-bit style.

Bandai Namco debuts action-RPG Code Vein with screenshots, trailer

An announcement trailer and batch of screenshots have gone live for Code Vein. The action role-playing game is set in a near future that has been devastated by a disease that has caused the collapse of mankind. A remaining group of Revenants known as Vein continue to fight, but their powers come at the expensive of their memories and a desire for blood. Players who succumb to their bloodlust will forsake what’s left of their humanity to become one of the Lost. The trailer features some of the weapon-based combat as well as a look at the companion system, which will allow players to team up with an AI partner.

Horror-themed puzzle-platformer Little Nightmares out for console, PC

Tarsier Studios’ latest horror-themed adventure, Little Nightmares, has been released in stores and online for console and PC. Published by Bandai Namco, Little Nightmares puts players in the shoes of Six, a heroine who must journey through the Maw, a strange vessel set within a “grim and shadowy universe” filled with strange and dangerous creatures. Six has only her raincoat and a lighter to aid her escape, as players “experience a bleak and oversized world that blurs the lines between dreams and nightmares.”

Dark Souls III – The Ringed City out, The Fire Fades Edition revealed

Dark Souls III’s final piece of downloadable content, The Ringed City, has been released for console and PC. In their last adventure, players pursue the Slave Knight Gael as he hunts down the Dark Soul of Humanity. The world is ending, and as the player journeys through a land in chaos, they will fight ancient beasts, find new armor and weapons, and encounter strange characters in the fabled city. An update to Undead Match, downloadable for owners of either DLC pack, also adds two maps and the ability to link up with two other players. Also announced is an all-in-one physical release for console, Dark Souls III: The Fire Fades Edition. Launching on April 21, The Fire Fades will include the base game along with both Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City for $49.99.

Nine new screenshots released from Dark Souls III: The Ringed City

Bandai Namco has sent out nine screens from the final downloadable expansion of Dark Souls III, The Ringed City. In the titular Ringed City, players will be seek out the Slave Knight Gael in search of the Dark Soul of Humanity. More of the quest can be seen in the latest images, which “highlight the lost wanderers, royal residents, and fearsome beasts that inhabit the fabled city at the end of the world.”

Digimon World: Next Order launches online, in stores for PS4

Digimon World: Next Order is bringing a new adventure with over 200 recruitable and trainable Digimon to PS4 today. Available digitally and physically, the latest entry in the Digimon franchise, developed by B.B. Studio, puts players in the shoes of Takuto or Shiki as they attempt to stop the Machinedramons from causing mayhem in the Digital World. In addition to leading their Digimon in combat, players will also form bonds with other characters they meet throughout their travels.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown announced for PC and Xbox One

PC and Xbox One players will be able to take to the skies alongside PS4 owners in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. The game was originally announced last year for PS4. The upcoming entry will feature support for PS VR, futuristic weapons, and a story by Sunao Katabuchi, the author behind Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies and Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War.

Tekken 7 launching June 2, Digital Deluxe, Collector’s Edition detailed

Bandai Namco has announced that Tekken 7 will launch for console and PC on June 2. The home port will expand on the arcade version with additional characters, online tournament modes, and a story mode. A new trailer has been released to highlight the story mode, along some new screens showing off some of the cinematics as well as the bundled extras. In regards to extras, the game will be released in several versions, with a Collector’s Edition and a Deluxe Edition, and are detailed below along with the various pre-order bonuses. Lastly, PS4 players will receive some freebies, including a Jukebox Mode and legacy costumes from Tekken 2 and 4 for King, Jin, and Xiaoyu.

Dark Souls III downloadable finale revealed, The Ringed City

The final downloadable pack has been announced for Dark Souls III. In The Ringed City, players will be seeking out the Slave Knight Gael in search of the Dark Soul of Humanity.
