The final covers have been released for the Premium Edition and Limited Standard Edition of Persona Q. New videos for Persona 3’s Ken Amada and Persona 4’a Naoto were also released and are viewable below. The Persona and Etrian Odyssey hybrid will come as a first-run Limited Standard Edition bundled inside a cardboard box with a pack of tarot cards, the second set of a deck that matches a set released with Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and as a Premium Edition, which costs more but also comes with a music CD, 38-page art book, and 3DS XL case.

Hamilcar marches, Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord out for PS3

Atlus has released Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord, a new strategy-RPG for PS3. The sequel’s storyline is standalone, so no knowledge of its predecessor is necessary to jump into this one. As father of the famed Hannibal, Hamilcar Barca, players wage war against the Divine Empire after he witnesses the burning of an innocent girl. In his pursuit of vengeance, Hamilcar learns that he has an inner rage that can result in everyone’s destruction if he cannot control it. The US release comes with an estimated 80-plus hours of gameplay and visual-novel-style cutscenes, the original Japanese audio, and a first-run bundle that includes a 31-page art book.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax now in stores, online for 360 and PS3

The Persona 3 and 4 crews are once again coming to blows with their evil doppelgangers today with the release of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. The Arc System Works co-developed fighter takes place shortly after the events in Persona 4 Arena, but now even more characters are getting involved. For those who have the original, Atlus notes that all DLC purchased for Area should transfer over to Ultimax. It was also noted that, while the game does support region-free netplay, it does not support cross-platform play. Downloadable characters Adachu and Marie are also available today, and as a launch bonus, they are free to download for the next week.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax DLC pricing detailed, unboxing video up

Atlus has revealed the pricing for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’s upcoming downloadable content packs as well as released a new unboxing video. A new addition is the Velvet Room’s ever-fashionable Margaret, who will be released on October 7 for $4.99. That also happens to be the day when Adachi and Marie will transition from free to for-pay DLC, each also for $4.99. Other packs include the complete Persona 4 Arena Story for $9.99, Glasses Packs and Additional Color Packs for $1.99 each or as a $5.99 sets, and Navigator Voices at $2.99 apiece. At launch, Adachi, Aigis, Mitsuru, Nanako, Teddie, and Yosuke will all have voice packs available; all other voice packs will launch on October 7.

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax trailer deluge – story, systems, characters

Atlus has released several new trailers from their upcoming fighter Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. The featured video is the story trailer, which shows the menacing, mysterious fog from Persona 4 once again covering the small town of Inaba, forcing the cast to turn on one another in a new tournament. The other four trailers, posted below, focus on the new systems as well as on three different characters: Aigis, Adachi and Marie. The latter two of which will be available as free DLC during the week after launch.

Persona Q-themed 3DS XL coming to North America

Those Persona fans who have held out from importing the Persona Q Edition of the 3DS XL are in luck: Atlus has announced a North American release. The $199.99 themed system will only be available at GameStop and sold only as hardware, meaning that there will be no bundle pack that includes the game. The Persona Q 3DS XL will be available in limited quantities but will be up prior to release for pre-order, though no date was given on when it’ll go live for pre-order.

Atlus to livestream Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’s Golden Arena shortly

Atlus will be playing through some of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax’s Golden Arena mode later today on their Twitch channel. The livestream kicks off in half an hour, at 1:30 p.m. (CST), and will feature a demonstration covering the earlier levels from some of the four different courses that the mode offers, as well as its various role-playing elements.

The strategy-RPG series Tears to Tiara will make its official North American debut with Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord. Fighting fans might recognize the name from Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match, the Examu-developed crossover brawler also published by Atlus, but Heir of the Overlord marks the first time the series has had a full localized release. Atlus is translating the text to English but noted that they are leaving the Japanese audio as it is. The campaign is said to last over 80 hours, mixing turn-based combat with visual-novel-style storytelling elements. The plot is … unique: Hamilcar Barca, father of the famous Hannibal, throws off the yoke of the Divine Empire and sets out on a path of revenge to retake the kingdom of Hispania, guided by a goddess and harnessing the strength of a malevolent demon that awakens within him.
