Etrian Odyssey V first-run goodies revealed, Dragoon trailer released

The launch edition will bundle together the game, a 24-page art book with character pieces and concept sketches, a six-track CD, and a protective outer box. But it’s not just all bonuses, as a new trailer also highlights the Dragoon, an armor-clad juggernaut that protects the three other classes. The Atlus crew is also set to celebrate Etrian’s 10-year anniversary with a new streaming event, set to begin at 5:00 p.m. (CST) on July 28, with Will and EJ playing several of the entries.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth trailer reveals Enhanced Battle System

Atlus has released new details about Mask of Deception’s upcoming sequel, Mask of Truth. Numerous reviews, including our own, mentioned that hours could pass between battles, but it seems that is about to change. The release starts off noting that “first, there’s going to be a lot of more battles,” since the events leading up to the follow-up have kicked off a war as factions attempt to join or resist the Yamato Empire. The increase in combat also means an expanded battle system. The characters, now veterans, will have a higher level cap, extended action chains, and two new moves, co-op final and co-op chain attacks. Two new modes are also being added, training and trials, for additional avenues of gaining experience.

Attlluuusss! The studio, who just last week revealed their plans to localize 13 Sentinels, has released a video showing more of the game … kind of. Atlus reveals new Etrian Odyssey, Radiant Historia, and SMT

A busy day at Atlus HQ! In one email, the company has revealed several highly anticipated titles. In addition to word that they will be localizing Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, the studio also revealed that they are bringing over Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. Etrian Odyssey V is set to release later this year, and will continue the series tradition of map making, party maximizing, and first-person dungeon crawling. Scenarios will also require making important decisions at key points. Radiant Historia is launching later, in 2018, and is an enhanced port of the 2011 DS original. The time-traveling adventure is being expanded with a third timeline with episodic what-if scenarios, options to play added content during or after the original story, and revamped presentation (new character art, voice overs, music, and intro). Also set for a 2018 release is Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. This updated port will add extra endings, more story content with a new character, a new dungeon, interface tweaks, and updated graphics. Trailers and screenshots for all can be found below.
