Assassin’s Creed III announced, set for release later this year
Ezio might be through with his journey, but the war between the Assassins and Templars rages on. The next hotspot of the war is a surprising one: the Thirteen Colonies on the eve of the American Revolution. On October 30, players will get to try their hand (and blade) at being another of Desmond’s ancestors, the half-English and half-Native American Ratohnhaké:ton. Donning the name Connor, the new assassin will fight the Templars in a battle that spans the Revolutionary War as well as the Colonies and the surrounding frontier.

Soulcalibur V ends its long journey, now on store shelves
Namco Bandai is looking to reignite gamers’ souls today with the release of Soulcalibur V for the 360 and PS3. Set 17 years after the events in SCIV, the latest follows Patroklos and Pyrrha Alexandra as they uncover their family’s history with the Soul swords. In addition to a guest appearance by Ezio Auditore de Firenze from Assassin’s Creed, SCV includes new gameplay features and a beefed-up character creation mode, with custom characters displayable in the new Global Colosseo online hub.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations swan dives into hay, rolls onto PC
Assassin’s Creed Revelations, recently released for the 360 and PS3, is now available for the PC. In the final installment of Ezio Auditore’s struggle, the master assassin’s war with the Templars comes to a head in Constantinople as the order attempts to undermine the Ottoman Empire’s authority. After rallying the Assassins, players can jump into an expanded multiplayer mode that includes new modes, maps, and characters.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations to get Ancestors Character Pack DLC
Just as gamers are beginning to refine their online skills in Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the title’s first DLC release, The Ancestors Character Pack, will be launching on Live and PSN. The 320 MS Point/$3.99 pack will hit on December 13 with four new characters for multiplayer: the Privateer, Corsair, Brigand, and Gladiator. Each character will come packing their own taunts, weapons, and assassin moves.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations now available for 360, PS3, soon for PC
Ezio Auditore’s journey is coming to an end soon with the release of Assassin’s Creed Revelations for the 360 and PS3. The master assassin continues his war with the Templar as he makes his way to Constantinople, where the Templars are attempting to undermine the Ottoman Empire and cause chaos. Multiplayer also returns with more modes, maps, and characters, which should make hunting people all the more enjoyable.

PlayStation Vita launch date announced
Sony has announced that the PS Vita, the successor to the PlayStation Portable, will launch on February 22 for $249.99 (Wi-Fi) and $299.99 (3G/Wi-Fi). The system features an OLED front touch screen and rear touch pad, dual analog sticks, motion sensors, and dual cameras. Social network integration will also feature prominently with support for Facebook, foursquare, Skype, and Twitter. Over 100 titles are said to be in development, including new versions of Assassin’s Creed, Resistance, Uncharted series, and WipEout.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations to support 3D on consoles, PC
Assassin’s Creed Revelations is going all-in on 3D. All versions of the game—360, PC, and PS3—will be shipping with 3D support, with the PC version utilizing Nvidia 3D Vision. Console gamers can use TriOviz Inficolor 3D glasses, and Revelations will also support all 3DTVs “using top/bottom, side-by-side and frame packing via HDMI 1.4.”

Assassin’s Creed Revelations – PS3 launch copies to include original
Another extra for PS3 gamers, Ubisoft has announced that day-one copies of Assassin’s Creed Revelations will include the original Assassin’s Creed on the disc. Gamers will be able to experience Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad’s original adventure and follow up the end of the storyline with his ancestor’s final battle with the Templars as Ezio heads to Jerusalem.
