Ubisoft will be releasing a new Assassin’s Creed compilation for 360 and PS3, The Americas Collection. Scheduled to launch on October 28, the new set will include three titles: Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, and Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD. No word on a price, though.

The current-gen—or previously current-gen—release turns the tables and has players take on the role of a Templar during the Seven Years’ War. After being betrayed by the brotherhood, Shay Patrick joins his former foe and sets out on a quest for revenge by hunting down assassins.

A few of the shots are from the single-player campaign, but most of the screens are from co-op multiplayer, demonstrating how teammates can help their fellow assassins reload during a firefight and pull them out of combat after being wounded.

Assassin’s Creed Unity announced for 2014, trailer released

The Internet has managed where the Templars have failed by revealing the next assassin. After word leaked of the next Assassin’s Creed earlier this week, Ubisoft has released a trailer featuring alpha footage of the next installment, Unity. At just over a minute long, the video gives gamers a glimpse at what they can expect as the next assassin amidst the chaos of the French Revolution. Just be careful not to cross Robespierre: “Pity is treason.”

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD launches online for 360, PC, PS3

Assassin’s Creed Liberation has made the leap from handheld today with an HD re-release for 360, PC, and PS3. Set prior to the Revolutionary War, Liberation puts players in the role of Aveline, the first playable female Assassin, who must use her varied arsenal, including a whip, a machete, and poison darts, to take down enemies across the world, from the streets of New Orleans to Mayan ruins. The new version has been remastered in high definition and features “improved gameplay mechanics and missions.”

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag sets sail for PC and Xbox One

As of today, with the release of the PC and Xbox One versions, Assassin’s Creed of Black Flag is now available for all announced platforms. As Edward Kenway, a former Royal Navy privateer turned pirate, players will sail around the West Indies in search of Templar and plunder. True to pirate form, players will be able to raid ports, hijack ships, and even exchange cannon fire with Blackbeard and other famous pirates from the era.

Assassin’s Creed officially enters the next generation today with the release of Black Flag for PS4. The latest entry in the series, currently available for 360, PC, PS3, and Wii U, transports gamers to the Golden Age of Pirates. As Edward Kenway, former Royal Navy privateer turned pirate, players will chase down Templars throughout the West Indies, raid ports, hijack ships, and meet other famous pirates, such as Blackbeard and Charles Vane. The PS4 version also supports Remote Play with PS Vita, allowing gamers to continue playing on the go using a local network via WiFi.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag goes goooooooooooold for PC

The PC version of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag has gone gold, according to Ubisoft. Gamers will have the chance to buy it in one of three versions: Standard, Deluxe Edition (bonus locations, items, and adventure featuring Liberation’s Aveline), or Uplay Deluxe Edition (all of the Deluxe Edition’s content as well as the Pride of the West Indies pack). The standard and deluxe editions will be available in stores and online, while the Uplay release is online only as it is exclusive to Ubisoft’s digital outlet. It was also noted that Nvidia card users will also have access to special features, such as God Rays, percentage-closer soft shadows, and temporal anti-aliasing. Several GeForce cards (list) have been bundled with digital copies of both Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Black Flag.

Privateer turned pirate Edward Kenway is hitting the high seas today with the release of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. Set in the early years of the 18th century, Kenway must battle the Templars throughout the West Indies as he takes ports, commandeers ships, and encounters other famous pirates of the age, such as Blackbeard and Charles Vane. As with its predecessors, combat will once again be a mixture of stealth and brute force, both of the armed and unarmed variety. And when he’s not fighting, Kenway will be exploring the more than 50 navigable locations. Oh, and whaling. He’ll also definitely be doing some whaling.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD heading to consoles, PC this January

It looks as if Aveline will have a busy new year. Ubisoft has announced that the console and PC version of Assassin’s Creed Liberation will be released on January 14 for PS3 and on January 15 for 360 and PC. The download-only release will feature assassin Aveline’s original adventure, set prior to the American Revolution, which found her using machetes, whips, and poison darts to take down her prey throughout New Orleans and even Mayan ruins. This new version will feature upgraded visuals—a comparison below shows a scene from it next to the same from the PS Vita original—and be released at $19.99. A discount of $5 was also announced for owners of Black Flag’s Season Pass.
