Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Assassin’s Creed Unity
Ubisoft has released a free downloadable pack for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Dead Kings. Set after Unity, players control Arno as he explores the catacombs and caves of modern-day Saint Denis. Using a lantern to light his path, he will have to navigate subterranean traps and puzzles as he battles new enemies, the Raiders, while unlocking the new Guillotine Gun and meeting historical notables along the way, such as Napoleon and the Marquis de Sade. Side quests also offer the chance for players to take part in enigmas, co-op missions (a heist and a Brotherhood mission), and investigate new Murder Mysteries. Unlocks gained in single and co-op modes can be brought over to Unity.
In addition to the current-gen Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Ubisoft has also announced the release of the PC- and next-gen-only Assassin’s Creed Unity. ‘Generation’ is hard to define at the moment, so bear with us. Rogue’s launch trailer was posted yesterday. Unlike Rogue, which follows a Templar during the Seven Years’ War, Unity is set during the French Revolution and follows Arno, a man who turns to the brotherhood after the loss of a loved one. Players will be able to traverse an open-world Paris, taking down targets as they gain new skills, customize weapons, and earn new gear. Unity also includes four-player co-op missions that reward special co-op gear, and players will get to utilize unique co-op skills based around agility, force, or stealth.
Ubisoft will be hosting a livestream launch event for Assassin’s Creed Unity. The stream will take place on November 7 beginning at 2:00 p.m. (CST) and feature an extended look at gameplay as well as interviews with the developers and giveaways. Gamers wanting to check it out should head on over to and bookmark Ubisoft’s official Twitch channel.
Ubisoft has released a handful of new screenshots from Assassin’s Creed Unity. A few of the shots are from the single-player campaign, but most of the screens are from co-op multiplayer, demonstrating how teammates can help their fellow assassins reload during a firefight and pull them out of combat after being wounded.
The Internet has managed where the Templars have failed by revealing the next assassin. After word leaked of the next Assassin’s Creed earlier this week, Ubisoft has released a trailer featuring alpha footage of the next installment, Unity. At just over a minute long, the video gives gamers a glimpse at what they can expect as the next assassin amidst the chaos of the French Revolution. Just be careful not to cross Robespierre: “Pity is treason.”
