Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Assassin’s Creed III
Ubisoft has released a new trailer detailing the life of the series’ newest assassin, Ratohnhaké:ton/Connor. The video focuses on Connor’s motivation and background as the latest in the long line of warriors to pit their blades against the Templars.
The PlayStation 3 is slimming down for the winter. Sony has announced that a new slimmer PS3 will be available in either charcoal black or classic white in North America starting in September. There will be two models (a third with 12 GB of flash memory is a Europe-only release) released in new bundles: a 250GB model launching September 25 for $269 with a copy of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Game of the Year Edition and Dust 514 pre-installed with a $30 voucher for DLC, and a 500GB model launching October 30 for $299 with a copy of Assassin’s Creed III.
More reveals in anticipation of this year’s Gamecom, and this one is a new Assassin’s Creed III naval-tastic trailer from Ubisoft. The new footage focuses on Conner’s ability to command a warship and lead a hardy crew through rough seas and against enemy vessels. A few new screens were also released.
PC gamers will be able to see Ratohnhaké:ton through the American Revolution on November 20 when Assassin’s Creed III launches for Windows. Console gamers will be able to get their lurking-and-slicing fix a little sooner when the game hits the 360 and PS3 on October 30.
Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed III showing off the new tech behind the 18th-century adventure, Ubisoft-AnvilNext. The engine will power the physics, animation, and weather systems, with the trailer offering a bit of what that means for Connor/Ratohnhaké:ton.
Ubisoft has announced a Limited Edition premium version of Assassin’s Creed III for 360 and PS3, as well as a Digital Deluxe Edition for PC. The console LE will retail for $119.99, and the PC DDE for $64.99.
Ubisoft has had a surprisingly busy E3 2012. From the return of Rayman for a new Wii U adventure to the open-world, open-ended action title Watch Dogs. And of course, there were zombies, assassins, and Fishers in abundance.
Ezio might be through with his journey, but the war between the Assassins and Templars rages on. The next hotspot of the war is a surprising one: the Thirteen Colonies on the eve of the American Revolution. On October 30, players will get to try their hand (and blade) at being another of Desmond’s ancestors, the half-English and half-Native American Ratohnhaké:ton. Donning the name Connor, the new assassin will fight the Templars in a battle that spans the Revolutionary War as well as the Colonies and the surrounding frontier.
