Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Arkane Studios
The upcoming re-imagined version of Prey is set to be released on May 5 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Gamers who pre-order will receive several digital extras at launch in the Cosmonaut Shotgun Pack. The set will include the family heirloom Margrave shotgun along with several tools: three neuromods to acquire new abilities, two medkits, a Fabrication plan to create the shotgun and ammo, a starter kit for building tools and weapons, and a upgrade to help preserve resources. Developed by Dishonored creator Arkane Studios, the new version finds players waking up in 2032 on the space station Talos I. Not only have aliens invaded the facilities, but players have been the subject of strange experiments and have no memory of recent events.
Arkane Studios has released the second free update for Dishonored 2. The latest download adds two new features: Custom Difficulty Settings and Mission Select. The former adds over 20 sliders for players to customize their game, adjusting everything from the number of enemies who will attack simultaneously to the speed of sleep darts. It will also add Iron Mode, which features permadeath and no manual saves. Mission Select allows for any mission to be unlocked once played, with the player’s status retained from the playthrough. The patch is available for all versions.
An updated has gone live today adding New Game Plus to all versions of Dishonored 2. The mode allows players to use both Emily’s and Corvo’s move lists at the same time, regardless of the character they choose to re-play the campaign. In addition, players can reassign all of the Bonecharm Traits and Runes that were collected during the initial playthrough. The next free update is scheduled to launch in January, and is set to add Mission Select and Custom Difficulty.
Dishonored 2’s first free game update has been announced and dated for next week. Arkane is using the update to note only improve performance but to also add a new feature. Beginning Monday, and today as part of the beta update for PC, players can access New Game Plus. In the mode, accessible once the game has been completed, players will be able to access both Corvo’s and Emily’s ability sets as well as all Bonecharm Traits and Runes found during the playthrough. Two more features were announced to be added in January, as part of the second free update: Custom Difficulty Settings and Mission Select.
A new gameplay walkthrough has been released for Prey. Arkane Studio’s upcoming first-person shooter, set to be released next year, finds players waking up in Talos I, a ransacked space station that’s been overrun by aliens. The sequel will offer a more open-ended approach to tackling levels, and creative director Raphael Colantonio and lead designer Ricardo Bare detail those sorts of possibilities in the video.
After releasing earlier this week for pre-orders, Dishonored 2 is now available for all through retail and digital outlets. The assassin Corvo, protagonist of the original Dishonored, returns to fight alongside his daughter, Emily. The pair is in a battle to restore Emily to the throne, as they take down the usurper’s forces in the city of Karnaca. As in the original, players have access to melee abilities, firearms, and special powers.
Dishonored 2 will be playable tomorrow for pre-orders, so to kick things off, Bethesda has released the official launch trailer. Everyone else will be able to snag their copy on Friday. In addition to once again taking on the role of famed assassin Corvo, players will also step into the shoes of his daughter, Emily. The duo must battle a usurper throughout the streets of Karnaca in order to restore Emily to the throne.
After covering the skills and combat system, Arkane Studios is now highlighting Dishonored 2’s world. Book of Karnaca runs a little over two minutes long, with The Outsider recapping past and current events as he goes over the game’s world and its inhabitants.
Bethesda has produced a live-action trailer for Arkane’s upcoming action title Dishonored 2. Take Back What’s Yours follows the game’s storyline of taking the Empire back from a usurper, the crazed witch Delilah. Actors playing Corvo and Emily reenact several of the combos featured in previous videos that utilize melee, magic, and ranged weaponry.
