Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Anomaly
Earth’s future isn’t looking too good in Anomaly 2, now on PSN for PS4. Even though I thought we helped to defeat the alien invaders back in 2012, they apparently returned with a vengeance and overran the planet with their damned machines. Players once again take on the role of a convoy’s commander, guiding the vehicles through a maze of defensive structures and alien attackers in what’s been dubbed a tower-offense design. Additions include the ability to transform troops into war mechs, a multiplayer versus mode with tower defense versus offense, and alternate endings.
11 bit studios has released a new multiplayer map for their tower-offense title Anomaly 2, Philips’ Puzzle. The update that contains the map also includes a set of options that allow players to customize the parameters of each battle for greater variety, with the ability to alter resources and other variables. The addition comes just in time for Steam’s summer sale, which has the game marked down 50% to $7.49.
Anomaly 2, 11 bit studios’ latest entry in the burgeoning tower-offense genre, is now available on Steam. The sequel to last year’s Anomaly: Warzone Earth, Anomaly 2 features a new single-player campaign that finds the commander on a mission to take back an infested, frozen Earth and a new multiplayer mode that mixes tower offense and defense. Early buyers will be able to snag it for $13.49 for the first week, and if the game is purchased from the official site, 11 bit will throw in Anomaly Korea as well.
11 bit studios is upping the ante to get gamers on board with their upcoming tower-offense title Anomaly 2. In addition to receiving a second copy to give away as a gift for pre-ordering, an additional bonus has been announced: the formerly mobile-only entry, Anomaly Korea. Note that players will have to pre-order from 11 bit’s site in order to score a copy of Anomaly Korea.
Despite our best efforts, the aliens have managed to spread out from Baghdad and claim much of the world. 11 bit Studios reminds us of the futility of hope with the announcement that their tower-offense title Anomaly will be continuing later this year with Anomaly 2. Scheduled to come out in the second quarter for Linux, Mac, and PC, the $14.99 sequel will include mech alts for troops (awesome), multiple endings, and multiplayer.
