Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Aliens
It’s been a while in the making, but Aliens: Colonial Marines has finally hit store shelves for 360, PC, and PS3. The xenomorphified first-person shooter is considered franchise canon, which means that what happens in Colonial Marines has a direct impact on the Aliens universe, overshadowing years of graphic novels, games, and films. In addition to the campaign, multiplayer is also supported with four versus modes: Escape, Extermination, Survivor, and Team Deathmatch. Word has been pretty spotty on this one, so you might want to Redbox it first.
Gamers interested in Sega and Gearbox’s upcoming xenomorph-y shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines will be able to snag all DLC at a discount, or score the first for free, courtesy of Walmart. With launch just a week away, gamers can purchase all DLC for %40 off, $29.99, with the Season One pass, which will include four packs that include new campaign and multiplayer content. The first pack can be snagged for free, however, by pre-ordering the game at Walmart. The first download, the multiplayer-centric, Horde-style Bug Hunt, will include three new maps and launch in March.
Sega has released another batch of screens from Gearbox’s upcoming first-person shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines. The five new screens feature a few of the locales and xenomorph-tastic encounters players will find themselves in when Colonial Marines hits store shelves on February 12 for 360, PC, and PS3.
Sega has released two new screens from Gearbox Software’s upcoming xenomorph-tastic shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines. The latest shots are from New York Comic-Con 2012, but we’ve tossed in a few from this year’s PAX as well because two is never enough when we’re talking about Aliens.
Sega has released a new behind-the-scenes video for Aliens: Colonial Marines. The trailer, titled Authentic Aliens, is the first episode of a new series that follows Gearbox as they develop the video-game sequel to Aliens. The first-person shooter is a rarity for the franchise as its story is being considered canon, a first for any game set in the Aliens universe.
Sega has released four new screenshots from Gearbox’s Aliens: Colonial Marines. The upcoming squad-based first-person shooter is scheduled to launch on February 12 for the 360, PC, and PS3, and later in 2013 for the Wii U.
Sega has announced that Gearbox’s upcoming Xenomorphtastic first-person shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines will be hitting store shelves on February 12. At least, for the 360, PC, and PS3—the Wii U version is slated to ship “at a later time.” As a member of the US Colonial Marines, players will square off with Giger’s babies in single player as well as co-op and versus multiplayer.
Sega has revealed the official box art for Gearbox’s upcoming squad-based first-person shooter, Aliens: Colonial Marines. Set to launch this fall for the 360, PC, and PS3, Colonial Marines will put players in the thick of things aboard the U.S.S. Sulaco as well as on the surface of LV-426 and in the halls of Hadley’s Hope.
A nice surprise out of Sega today with the announcement of an Aliens sidescroller. Can’t say I wouldn’t mind 2D-ing it up against some xenomorphs. Set to release next year for the DS, Aliens: Infestation is being developed by WayForward, with some assistance from Colonial Marines developer Gearbox Software, and will feature character design by artist Chris Bachalo (Generation X, Ultimate X-Men).
