Aksys to bring Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ stateside in 2017

Idea Factory’s visual novel Period: Cube ~Shackles of Amadeus~ will be coming to North America next spring for PS Vita. Aksys Games has taken on publishing duties, and is currently localizing the title. After the disappearance of their brother, players begin their search for clues by joining an online role-playing game called Arcadia. Players quickly find themselves caught in the virtual world with their only hope of escape being to beat the game. The 30-plus-hour story will feature branching paths that lead to multiple endings.

Zero Escape: The Nonary Games launching spring ’17 for PS4, PS Vita

A new bundle is in the works for Spike Chunsoft’s Zero Escape visual novel series. Aksys Games will be releasing a two-game set next spring for PS4 and PS Vita, Zero Escape: The Nonary Games. Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors (999) will be included along with its sequel, Virtue’s Last Reward, with the former being updated with remastered graphics and a dual audio track with English and Japanese. The adventure-style puzzler has players attempting to navigate their way through trap-filled environments as they attempt to solve the Nonary Game alongside a group of strangers.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Fighting Commander released for PS3, PS4

Arc System Works’ latest BlazBlue entry, Central Fiction, has launched digitally and physically for PS3 and PS4. The 2D fighter features a new storyline that is packed with 33 characters, along with new levels, mechanics, and modes. Released alongside the game is a themed controller designed by Hori specifically for fighters, the Fighting Commander.

Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky launches for PS4, PS Vita

Aksys Games has released a new role-playing game for PS4 and PS Vita, Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky. Co-developed by tri-Ace (Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile) and Spike Chunsoft (999), the game is said to feature 50 hours of gameplay that is focused on a combo-heavy combat system that players will need to master against “unspeakable horrors and vicious bosses.” As with previous tri-Ace titles, moves are mapped to face buttons, making combat more hands-on that other titles, while combo effectiveness is affected by the squad’s chemistry. English and Japanese audio tracks are also included, for the purists out there.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Hori controller bundle due November

Aksys Games will be releasing the next entry in the BlazBlue line, Central Fiction, this November. Arc System Works’ long-running 2D fighter series will be returning digitally and physically to PS3 and PS4. The upcoming entry will feature revamped mechanics, along with a new story, levels, modes, and brawlers, with the total roster surpassing 33 characters. A $129.99 bundle has also gone up for pre-order that packs the Fighting Commander along with a copy of the game. The Sony- and Arc System Works-licensed Hori controller features “the industry’s best” directional pad, six large buttons, turbo functions, a 10-foot cable, and “improved ergonomics.” It is also compatible for PS3 and PC (with XInput).

Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters Daybreak: Special Gigs arriving Sept. 20

Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters is returning later this summer as Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters Daybreak: Special Gigs. Scheduled to launch on September 20, the mixed release will be available digitally and physically for PS4, and digitally for PS3 and PS Vita. The hybrid role-playing game set within a visual novel will once again task players with driving evil spirits out of the city as a ghost hunter. The new version will feature an expanded storyline with additional characters and extra chapters that are estimated to push the play time past the 30-hour mark.

Shiren The Wanderer: Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate out now

Aksys has released Spike Chunsoft’s roguelike Shiren The Wanderer: Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate for PS Vita. In the new adventure, Shiren sets out to tackle the ever-changing Tower of Fortune to challenge the god of Destiny, Reeva. The Eternal Wanderer Edition, an Aksys Store and Video Game Plus exclusive, is also available. The premium set comes with a 64-page 20th Anniversary art book covering the Shiren series, a 10-song soundtrack CD, and a Zero Escape-themed Deluxe Nonary Bracelet inside a Nonary Display Box. The former can be found in the game, while the latter features art from the tower.

Aksys and Spike Chunsoft’s upcoming roguelike Shiren The Wanderer: Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate will be available as a limited version, the Eternal Wanderer Edition. The set is available for pre-order exclusively on Askys’ online store and comes bundled with several goodies, including a few tied to another Aksys series, Zero Escape. Langrisser Re:Incarnation -Tensei- marches to stores, eShop for 3DS

The Langrisser series returns today with the release of Langrisser Re:Incarnation -Tensei- for 3DS. The latest entry in the long-running tactical role-playing series was developed in conjunction with creators Masaya Games and released digitally and physically by Aksys. It’s been 15 years since the last release, and players are once again being summoned to a land at war as three factions vie for control. A branching path will open new storylines based on the player’s decisions, as they serve the Armies of Light, Forces of Darkness, or the Empire in a campaign estimated to last over 100 hours.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- pre-order demo now available for PS4

Players who pre-order Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- on PSN for PS4 can now access a playable demo. The demo features Arcade Mode, Training Mode, and Versus mode in their entirety, plus all three new characters. Free downloadable content is also in the works and will be available from June 7 through June 21 for PS3 and PS4. Players will be able to download two new characters, Raven and Kum Haehyun, and the Eclipse Color pack. Additionally, the studio has also launched Aksys Academy to help newcomers learn the ropes.
