Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi announced for 3DS
Aksys Games is preparing a new visual novel/otome release for 3DS, Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi. The Idea Factory-developed title follows Chizuru as she travels to Kyoto in search for her father. Along the way, she encounters a mysterious band of samurai who are also also looking for him. Together, the group must make their way through Japan while avoiding the battling shogun and imperial forces as well as strange supernatural phenomena. As it’s a relationship sim, players will forge bonds with their new allies through six new stories.

Muramasa Rebirth limited edition, pre-order soundtrack announced
A limited edition version of Muramasa Rebirth, the upcoming re-release for PS Vita, has been announced, the—deep breath—Muramasa Rebirth Blessing of Amitabha Collector’s Edition. The first-run set includes a high-res framed lithograph from developer Vanillaware, a black velvet system pouch, and a face cover and system skin from Hori.

A.R.E.S Extinction Agenda EX announced for 360
Extend Studio and Orgio Games’ platformer A.R.E.S. Extinction has been picked up by Aksys Games. Rebranded A.R.E.S Extinction Agenda EX, the Live version will sport a new, more console-friendly interface and control scheme, leaderboard support, and updated graphics with new cutscenes. Other additions include new levels, weapons, abilities, upgrades, enemies, and bosses.

Muramasa Rebirth announced for PS Vita
The PS Vita will be receiving an enhanced port of the Wii action title Muramasa: The Demon Blade, titled Muramasa Rebirth, courtesy of Aksys Games. The studio announced that Rebirth will include high-resolution graphics, improved controls, and surprisingly, a complete relocalization. The story will follow the original, with possessed princess Momohime and ninja Kisuke searching the world for powerful demon blades. However, Aksys is also planning on extending the adventure with character DLC that will add up to four additional scenarios.

Aksys continues the BlazBlue celebrations with two new contests
Aksys is celebrating three years of BlazBlue in the US with three contests, and they have just announced that the final two are now live. The first, which took place back in August, was all about finding the biggest fan, while the second looks for a bit of creativity and the third a bit of promotion. Caption the Blue challenges contestants to come up with a witty caption, while All Eyes on the Azure is all about spreading word about this weekend’s Northeast Championships XIII in Philadelphia, PA.

Ragnarok Tactics now available in stores, PSN for PSP and PS Vita
GungHo’s strategy-RPG Ragnarok Tactics is now available for the PSP and PS Vita. Set in the Ragnarok universe, Tactics, published by Aksys Games, follows a hero in the midst of a renewed conflict over the hotly contested Grantria Peninsula as multiple factions vie for control.

Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi announced for PSP
It seems that the PSP still has some life left in it. Aksys Games has announced a follow-up to last year’s Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi. The hack-and-slash action title from developer Idea Factory features Saito and the rest of the main characters battling through an alternate storyline that will see them strike out on a new path or relive past exploits. The six warriors will also now be able to engage a Fury Mode, a state of pure rage that can clear out hordes of enemies but also lead to a bad ending if abused.

Record of Agarest War 2 launches for PS3 in stores, on PSN
The latest in the Record of the Agarest War saga is now available in stores and online with the launch of Record of Agarest War 2 for PS3. The strategy-RPG, co-developed by Idea Factory, Compile Heart, and Red, and localized by Aksys Games, is available on PSN as well as a Standard Edition and Limited Edition in retail.

Aksys announces, details Record of Agarest War 2 Limited Edition
PlayStation 3 gamers looking to scratch that strategy-RPG itch will be able to get their fix soon, courtesy of Aksys Games and Record of Agarest War 2. Not only that, but the company is looking to make an impression with a Limited Edition version that includes an array of unique extras, including an inflatable doll of Felenne, compressed 8 x 12″ hand towel*, and artbook.

Rising Star Games signs distribution agreement with Aksys Games
Rising Star Games, the European publisher who just opened a brand-new office in our part of the world, has announced that they have reached a distribution deal with Aksys Games. Aksys, known for publishing the hit BlazBlue fighter series and surreal Bit.Trip series, will offer sales and logistics support as Rising Star rolls out their 2012 line-up. Their first collaborative effort will be Cave’s upcoming 360 shooter Akai Katana.
