Modern Warfare Remastered’s campaign playable for PS4 pre-orders

Beginning today, PlayStation 4 owners who have pre-ordered the Legacy or Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare can get an early start on Modern Warfare Remastered’s campaign. The latest version features, among other improvements, 1080p, updated textures, high-dynamic range lighting, and physically based rendering. Everyone else will have to wait to play until the game’s official launch on November 4.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered launch trailer up

Longtime Call of Duty fans are getting a better look at Modern Warfare Remastered. The launch trailer, released today, runs just over two minutes and builds on the previously revealed footage that’s trickled out since the game’s announcement. Though no direct gameplay is shown, the footage does feature many of the more memorable cinematic sequences. For those who are itching to go back in time, it was also announced that anyone who pre-orders the Legacy or Digital Deluxe Edition for PS4 will be able to play Modern Warfare Remastered’ campaign 30 days early, starting on October 5.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare multiplayer beta schedule detailed

Activision has sent word that everyone who has pre-ordered Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare for PS4 will be able to access the multiplayer beta beginning at noon (CST) on Friday, October 14. Xbox One owners will be able to join in at noon the following Friday, October 21. The servers will run throughout the weekend, shutting down at noon on Monday, October 24. Details as to what will be included for play should be along shortly, but for now, a FAQ has been set up to address any questions prior to launch.

Destiny: Rise of Iron now available, transition program begins

Destiny’s latest expansion, Rise of Iron, is now available for download. The $29.99 add-on is the game’s largest to date, introducing The Plaguelands on Earth, the six-player Raid Felwinter Peak, a three-player Strike, four player-versus-player maps, Supremacy competitive mode, and a social space home to a stronghold that needs to be retaken. A new story partners players with Lord Saladin to battle an evil spreading a disease across the land. An extra Raid, Wrath of the Machine, is also slated to go live at noon on Friday.

Kit Harington, McGregor make their Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare debut

Infinity Ward has released a story trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The video highlights the game’s campaign, which will see players leaving Earth to battle for control throughout the solar system. It also marks the debuts of Game of Throne’s Kit Harington as Admiral Salen Kotch and UFC fighter Conor McGregor as Captain Bradley Fillion, both of the Settlement Defense Front.

Bungie releases launch trailer for Destiny: Rise of Iron

A new video mixing rendered and in-game footage has gone live for Destiny’s latest add-on, Rise of Iron. The launch trailer runs nearly two minutes and offers a quick overview of the backstory and current mission. Around half of the footage features several of the new gameplay elements, including The Plaguelands location, Felwinter Peak social space, and added weaponry.

Destiny to get Private Match option tomorrow for PS4, Xbox One

Bungie will be adding Private Matches to Destiny ahead of the release of Rise of Iron. Tomorrow, current-gen versions—that is, PS4 and Xbox One, as weird as that remains to say—will allow players to host sessions from up to 18 modes across nearly 30 maps.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Salvation now available for PS4

Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Salvation has gone live on PSN. The final downloadable pack sees Black Ops III off with four multiplayer maps and the Origins Zombies’ finale, Revelations. The included maps are detailed below, but of note for series fans are two reimaginings: Black Ops II’s Standoff is now the Western-styled Outlaws, while World at War’s Outskirts has been reworked into a futuristic repair facility in Rupture. Revelations also wraps up the squad’s adventure as the group faces Doctor Monty in The House.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare multiplayer, more debuted at CoD XP

Call of Duty XP, the celebration of all things Call of Duty, began earlier today. As part of the festivities, Activision released a multiplayer trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare as well as word that PS4 players who pre-order will gain to access a multiplayer beta on October 14. Also announced was that Modern Warfare Remastered will include all 16 original multiplayer maps, with the remaining six joining the initial 10 at no cost this December. Jackal Assault, the PSVR update for PS4, will go live later this year as well, also for free. A stream of the event showcasing Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer mode, Modern Warfare Remastered, new content from Black Ops III, and more can be viewed throughout the weekend on Twitch, Youtube, and CallofDuty.com.
