Gwendolyn introduced in new Odin Sphere Leifthrasir cast trailer

The first in a new series of cast trailers has gone live for Odin Sphere Leifthrasir. The debut features the Valkyrie princess of Ragnanival, and daughter of Demon Lord Odin, Gwendolyn. Gwendolyn uses her Valkyrie training and deceased sister’s Psypher Spear to attack enemies head-on as well as from above. Her powers, augmented by the addition of a skill tree, include the ability to tossing a wave of icicles and summon a swarm of spears. Aksys Games will be releasing a console version of LookAtMyGame’s PC action role-playing game Chronicles of Teddy: Harmony of Exidus. The 2D side-scroller tasks players with saving the lands of Exidus by clearing out four monster- and puzzle-filled realms. As players progress, they will gain new skills, discover extra quests, and uncover runes that allow them to talk with both villagers and monsters. Console gamers can look for it to hit eShop and PSN later this month.

The enhanced re-release features upgraded visuals, Metallia as a playable character, and a new dungeon, The Tower of Illusion. The tower has an interesting twist, though: players must sacrifice a weapon to enter, and the enemies and loot generated within are determined by the sacrifice.

Bandai Namco has released over a dozen new screenshots from Dark Souls III. The shots show several of the classes in action, including the Assassin, Cleric, Deprived, Herald of White, Knight, Mercenary, Thief, and Warrior. Life is Strange and Remember Me developer Dontnod has released the first screenshots from their upcoming action role-playing game Vampyr. As Jonathan Reid, a military surgeon recently turned vampire, players must make their way around 1918 London in the midst of the Spanish flu pandemic. Players will search for clues as to who or what turned them as well as for sustenance. Blood doesn’t just satiate Reid’s hunger but also leads to him unlocking new powers via a skill tree. A key element is on how careful players must be when choosing their targets, as each character is said to have a unique backstory, and their absence will go noticed and have an effect on the world.

Action-RPG Sadame now available on eShop for 3DS

Mebius’ action role-playing game Sadame has been released for 3DS. Published by Rising Star Japan, the $14.99 digital release features a tale of four heroes battling their way through over 20 bosses and hordes of enemies during the Senhoku period of Japan. Four classes—Monk, Ninja, Rogue, and Samurai—are represented, and each has their own skill trees, abilities, encounters, and events. Armor and weapons can be shared between characters, and weapons can be upgraded. StreetPass functionality allows other player’s characters to join in and assist with the quest.

A new gameplay trailer has gone live for Dark Souls III. The video, titled True Colors of Darkness, runs a little over two minutes and features sweeping shots of several areas, some ominous-looking buildings, a handful of the new enemy types, and some good old melee combat. In a strange bit of marketing synergy, it also has the new version of the song True Colors.

Atlus has released a new trailer and screenshots showcasing Odin Sphere Leifthrasir’s combat and skill systems. Fans of the original will want to take note because the upcoming version will feature nearly 200 new abilities and skills. Drawing on their experience from Dragon’s Crown, the studio has expanded each character’s skillset while also streamlining the leveling system, by having characters and Psyphers level together, and increasing the fluidity of the combo system. For those who prefer the original setup, Classic Mode is being included that retains the visual upgrades but reverts back to the old mechanics.

Dark Souls III pre-order extras, Dark Souls 360 BC announced

Bandai Namco is offering several pre-order goodies for Dark Souls III. The Xbox One version comes with a code to download Dark Souls for Xbox 360, which will later be playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility. The code can be redeemed here and will be delivered in 7 to 10 days. The PlayStation 4 version comes with a digital version of the game’s soundtrack, which is scheduled to be available on April 12, and an exclusive system theme. The PC release is accessible through Steam and also comes with a digital version of the soundtrack, plus a discount of $5 for owners of Dark Souls and Dark Souls II. A $84.99 digital deluxe version comes with a season pass as well as another theme for PS4.
