Axiom Verge in development for Xbox One, Wii U, releasing this year

Developer Tom Happ will be bringing his throwback action-platformer Axiom Verge to Wii U and Xbox One. Currently available for PC and PS4, the Metroid-style adventure features over 40 weapons and tools, nearly 100 upgrades, 80-plus creatures, and nearly a thousand rooms to explore. Players can also utilize glitches to gain an advantage by corrupting environments, scrambling enemies, and uncovering secret areas.

Aksys Games will be releasing a console version of LookAtMyGame’s PC action role-playing game Chronicles of Teddy: Harmony of Exidus. The 2D side-scroller tasks players with saving the lands of Exidus by clearing out four monster- and puzzle-filled realms. As players progress, they will gain new skills, discover extra quests, and uncover runes that allow them to talk with both villagers and monsters. Console gamers can look for it to hit eShop and PSN later this month.

Physical version of Mega Man Legacy Collection out now

Capcom has released the physical copy of the previously digital-only Mega Man Legacy Collection for 3DS, PS4, and Xbox One. The 3DS version is also available in a Collector’s Edition that comes bundled with a gold-colored Mega Man amiibo, which unlocks 11 new remix challenges, and postcards. All versions include the first six Mega Man games as well as several unlockable extras, including Challenge Mode and Museum Mode.

Blood Alloy: Reborn launching February 24, trailer released

A new trailer and batch of screens has been released for Blood Alloy: Reborn. The fast-paced action-platformer, which mixes shooting and melee combat, is due to launch on February 24, and developer Suppressive Fire Games is revealing more of the action that’s in store. It’s reminiscent of Abuse, only set in a larger world and cranked up several notches (and a few more for good measure).

EA has released a new trailer from their upcoming parkour-heavy platformer Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. The video features the return of Faith, the introduction of some new characters, and a little gameplay, both free running and combat. A closed beta was also announced, though no date has been set. GOG (PC) Games in Development Announcement - Header has kicked off a new curated pre-order program, similar to Steam Early Access and Xbox’s Game Program, called Games in Development. They will be offering select, in-development titles that they deem promising. The titles will come with a 14-day refund, be DRM-free, and implement GOG Galaxy’s rollback feature. Five titles have been chosen to begin the program and discounted up to 40% off: Ashes of the Singularity, Curious Expeditions, Project Zomboid, Starbound, and TerraTech. The discounts will end on February 2.

Ubisoft has released a new trailer for the upcoming second entry in the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles series, India. The video offers details on the backstory as well as several minutes of gameplay footage. As the assassin Arbaaz Mir, players must stop a Master Templar from stealing the Koh-i-noor diamond and recover a strange box that was taken from the order. Players must accomplish their mission as hostilities erupt between the Sikh Empire and Britain’s East India Company.

PC gamers itching to raid some tombs are in luck as Square Enix has announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be hitting Windows 10 later this month, on January 28. The PC version is being co-developed with Nixxes Software, and for those with the rigs, will support 4K resolution. The download-only release will be available in three versions: standard for $59.99, Digital Deluxe edition (with Season Pass) for $89.99, and Collector’s Edition (with Season Pass, 12-inch Lara Croft statue, replica of Lara’s journal and necklace, and steel case) for $149.99 from Square Enix’s online store.
