Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ announced for New 3DS XL

A previous Ace Combat entry will be returning to join the New 3DS XL’s launch library with the reveal that Bandai Namco has Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy+ prepped for a day-one release. Both a 3DS version and another for New 3DS XL will be available on February 13. The re-release will feature all of the content from the 2012 original plus reworked controls for New 3DS XL to utilize the C-stick and ZL/ZR buttons. A new batch of screens was also released, one of which features a ship sporting a rather nice Luigi-themed paint job.



Ace Combat Infinity update adds new crafts, missions, and parts

A new patch has gone live for Ace Combat Infinity. The free-to-play title is being expanded with five new aircraft, an increased level cap for 15 craft, nine new aircraft parts, seven new campaign missions, new special raid missions for Stonehenge and another limited-time mission, and the ability to view rankings for allies and rivals. Ace Combat Infinity, Soulcalibur Lost Swords pass 1-million mark

Ace Combat Infinity, the series’ first free-to-play entry, passed the one-million-download mark during May, according to Bandai Namco. To celebrate, Project Aces will gift every player who checks their notification about the commemoration before August 18 a free special aircraft, the Mirage 2000-5 -White Tiger-. The studio’s other free-to-play title, Soulcalibur Lost Swords, also surpassed one million downloads. A One Million Download Campaign was kicked off in honor of the milestone, and from July 9 to 23, players will be able to battle through a new campaign as well as take on special quests to unlock Ivy, Astaroth, and gift items.

Free-to-play Ace Combat Infinity takes off, now on PSN for PS3

Ace Combat Infinity, the first free-to-play entry in the series, has gone live for PS3. Available on PSN, the Project Ace-developed Infinity includes a single-player campaign, where players take on the role of a mercenary in the near future, and co-op missions. Alongside up to three other pilots, players will face off against another team to take down the most enemies. Progress opens up customization rewards for virtual pilots to tailor their craft in both single player and multiplayer. A series of special launch events were also announced, and details for each are available below.

Bandai Namco has announced a slew of new titles across all platforms. Some of the highlights include the development of Grid Autosport for 360, PC, and PS3, the localization of both Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment and Tales of Hearts R for PS Vita, and details about Tales of Xillia 2’s $130 Collector’s Edition. Ace Combat goes free to play with PS3 exclusive Ace Combat Infinity

Ace Combat will be returning later this year as a free-to-play release for PS3. The Project Aces-developed Ace Combat Infinity will feature a new storyline set in a campaign that takes place in the near future, which is hinted at by the enhanced tech in the new teaser. Co-op play will also be supported for up to four players, with two teams of two competing to inflict the most damage.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon: Enhanced Edition is now available for PC. The $34.99 set includes the base game as well as several DLC packs that add additional skins, skills, and maps, plus seven new aircraft. Multiplayer uses Games for Windows.

Namco Bandai has announced that the Live Games on Demand launch of Ace Combat Assault Horizon has been delayed until January. The push back from December 18 is being put down to strategic reasons, while the + DLC Pack edition for PS3 has launched on PSN and Enhanced Edition for PC is on track for its Q1 2013 release.

Namco Bandai has announced that Ace Combat Assault Horizon will launch as three different packages on Live Games on Demand and PSN on December 18, and in early 2013 for PC. The standard version is already available for $19.99 on PSN, while the upcoming release will be the $29.99 + DLC Pack edition that includes adds six new aircraft and two maps. Live Games on Demand will only offer the standard edition, while Steam will only offer the $34.99 Enhanced Edition for PC. Additionally, a new patch will be available for the 360 and PS3 versions today to fix multiplayer exploits and address minor gameplay and balance issues. It was also announced that the Game Integrated Web Site will end service.

Namco Bandai’s long-running combat flight sim series returns today with Ace Combat Assault Horizon for the 360 and PS3. The Project Aces-developed entry adds a new damage model, for better debris and particle detail, attack helicopters, urban battlegrounds, a close-range assault system, super-sonic jets, door gunners, and a new online multiplayer mode, Capital Conquest. The story, penned by Threat Level Black author Jim DeFelice, puts players in the role of a pilot assigned to an international task force that will find itself taking on missions across the globe. Launch copies will allow access to three free multiplayer skills, and all copies will allow access to the Facebook Skin Design Contest winning entry, Death Rider by Chi-Chun Liu, as a playable skin for the F15-C fighter.
