Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Abyss Odyssey
Atlus has released an updated version of Abyss Odyssey for PS4, the Extended Dream Edition. The original release of the 2D action platformer is already available for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, and now next-gen owners—well, current-gen—will get the chance to experience the lovely, challenging adventure in 1080p. In addition to graphical improvements, the game features all updates released for PC, which includes expanded move lists and multiplayer support for two players locally and four players online in duel mode. PS Plus subscribers can currently grab it or the PS3 version for 40% off.
Ace Team’s action platformer Abyss Odyssey will be getting a release for PS4. Abyss Odyssey: Extended Dream Edition will contain tweaks and updates to the original game, which follows Katrien, Ghost Monk, and Pincoya on a quest to defeat a powerful warlock at the bottom of a sprawling abyss. In addition to the updates for the PC version, Extended Dream Edition will feature online two-player co-op, local four-player versus, and a mini-boss battle with Zeno Clash’s Goldem. There are also several system-exclusive mini-bosses, Tirana and White Phantom, as well as a unique final boss form, Warlock Titan.
Ace Team’s lovely 2D action-adventure title Abyss Odyssey has launched for 360, PC, and PS3. The side-scrolling release mixes elements of traditional one-on-one fighters, platformers, and role-playing games, making for another unique entry into the company’s library, following as it does the equally eccentric Rock of Ages and Zeno Clash. A combination of Art Nouveau aesthetics and Chilean folklore is mixed with three characters, persistent experience, and procedurally generated levels in an abyss ruled over by a shaman who gradually evolves to a final form as the community beats the game. The console versions are both on sale during launch week as well, with 30% off for PS3 and 33% off for 360.
A new overview trailer has been released for Atlus’ upcoming beat ’em up Abyss Odyssey. Developer Ace Team goes over many of the game’s features throughout the seven-minute-plus video, including the challenge rooms, ability to steal souls, and procedurally generated areas as well as multiplayer’s local and online co-op options.
Ace Team’s 2D side-scrolling action title Abyss Odyssey will be available online on July 15 for PC and PS3, and on the following day for 360. Atlus also announced that the official website has gone live at AbyssOdyssey.com, and that they are running a pre-order program for the PC version through Steam offering 33% off the suggested price of $14.99.
