505 Games to publish console and PC versions of Bloodstained

505 Games has announced a deal to publish Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The Castlevania-style action platformer was successfully funded through Kickstarter last year, and is currently in production. Campaign rewards include digital and physical releases for PC, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Wii U, which remain under the direction of Fangamer. 505 Games will handle the retail release for all platforms, aside from any mobile and tablet versions. Agent Anne Tarver introduced in new trailer for Virginia

A new trailer has been released for Variable State’s Virginia. A cinematic trailer was released a few weeks back, and today, the studio is focusing on the characters surrounding the supernatural mystery. Protagonist and recent FBI graduate Anne Tarver is highlighted, who takes on a missing persons case in Kingdom, Virginia, as her first assignment. However, her progress into the disappearance of Lucas Fairfax uncovers “sinister forces” in the town and is frustrated by doubts about her new partner, veteran Maria Halperin.

Supernatural-tinged noir Virginia launching Sept. 22, demo out

Variable State has sent word that their upcoming first-person thriller, Virginia, is set to launch on September 22. The noir is said to be infused with elements of horror and science fiction, and being set in 1992, inspired by several shows of that era, including X-Files, Twin Peaks, and the revamped The Outer Limits. As a newly minted FBI agent, players are assigned to look into the disappearance of a young boy from Kingdom, Virginia, Lucas Fairfax. A veteran of the force has also been assigned the case, and will keep an eye on the player throughout the investigation. A demo for Mac and Windows PC is currently available through Steam.

Reloaded Games’ free-to-play team-based shooter Hawken has launched for PS4. Already available for PC and Xbox One, the first-person action title features over 30 mechs, multiple classes, nine environments, six game modes, and an emphasis on customization. The PS4 version launches with support for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Missile Assault, Siege, Co-op Bot Destruction, and Co-op vs AI Team Deathmatch. Rocket League has been released in stores as a physical Collector’s Edition for $29.99. Psyonix’s racer-soccer hybrid comes bundled with an art print, three download packs (Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run), and four new vehicles. The additions include two that are inspired by anime, Esper and Masmune, and two that are re-imaginings of Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars vehicles, Aftershock and Marauder.

Mecha action shooter Hawken to be released for PS4, Xbox One

This summer, Reloaded Games will be releasing the mech-based free-to-play team-based shooter Hawken for PS4 and Xbox One. Available for PC on Steam, the console versions are set to go live in late June or early July. At release, the game will feature 30-plus mechs, multiple classes, functional and cosmetic customization options, nine environments that range from jungles to wastelands, and six game modes. The modes include co-op, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Missile Assault, Siege, Co-op Bot Destruction, and Co-op vs AI Team Deathmatch. E3 attendees can head to Microsoft’s booth or meeting room #505 in the West Hall for some hands-on time with a playable demo.

The $99.99 set, launching this Thursday, will include the original game along with all previously released DLC, plus a handful of physical items: a Premium Dallas Mask, themed Duffle Bag, key ring, and special limited edition branded box. The bundle is only available through 505 Games’ online store.
