Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan demo, contest launch
A new demo has launched on the Nintendo eShop for Atlus’ Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan. The upcoming first-person role-playing game will feature 3D dungeons, skyships, and some old-fashion dungeon-crawling. The demo features the opening areas and the introduction, which include the Old Forest Mine mini-dungeon, the Windy Plains skyship area, and some of the first main dungeon, Lush Woodlands. All progress is transferrable to the final game.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate screens, art revealed
Konami released a slew of goodies for the upcoming Lords of Shadow 3DS sequel (and Lords of Shadow 2 prequel), Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. Over a half dozen new screenshots and some concept art has been uploaded for your viewing pleasure. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed karting it into stores Feb. 12
Kart fans will be able to hit the tracks soon when Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed arrives on store shelves for 3DS on February 12. Transformed features the ability to race as your Mii as well as a number of Sega luminaries, such as Alex Kidd and Joe Musashi, and over 20 shortcut-filled tracks that loop and twist in, on, and around land, air, and water.

Fire Emblem Awakening, DLC launches for 3DS
Fire Emblem Awakening, the long-running turn-based strategy series from Intelligent Systems, is now available for 3DS. Awakening follows Lord Chrom as he gathers an army, each a unique character with their own personality and skills, in order to battle an emerging evil. Downloadable content in the form of weekly maps was also announced. Each map will offer a wide range of rewards, such as new characters, skills, and class types. The first map is available now for free until March 5, and more free content will be available through SpotPass over the next few months, including new characters, storylines, and items.

Skylanders Giants event taking place Feb. 5 at flagship Toys “R” Us
Skylander fans will be able to snag the upcoming character Ninjini before its official launch, and a few discounted figures as well, on February 5 at an event at Toys “R” Us Times Square. The festivities are in honor of the annual International Toy Fair, and in celebration, the first to line up will receive a free Ninjini figure. Those who show up later will still be able to participate in giveaways and a day-long sale, which includes $25 off a Giants Starter Pack and a ‘buy 2, get 1 free’ for figures. Characters will be on hand to greet attendees, and playable demos will be setup at kiosks.

SMT: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers box set, cover revealed
Atlus has revealed the cover and contents of the box set that comes with all pre-order and launch copies of their upcoming 3DS role-playing game Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers. In addition to the the game, the set includes a soundtrack CD with six fan-favorite selections and a slip cover to house the contents.

THQ announces results of asset sale, Crytek, Sega, Ubisoft buy
THQ has announced the results of their recent asset sale, and the details, which include the new homes of Homefront and Metro: Last Light, can be found below. In regards to what will be done with the acquired studios and properties, the company states that they expect “the new owners to extend employment to most employees and to continue development of the games they purchased that are currently in development.” All of those assets that were not sold, including Darksiders stewards Vigil Games, “will remain part of the Chapter 11 case.“ As of their announcement, the THQ estate will receive around $72 million and employee a small staff to assist during the transition period.

New Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate screens released
Konami released some new screenshots today from the 3DS Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sequel and Lords of Shadow 2 prequel, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. The new shots offer a taste of the undead-whipping action and chandelier-whipping platforming that awaits Simon and Trevor Belmont.

Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan demo hitting eShop Feb. 7
Role-playing fans curious about the next entry in the Etrian Odyssey series, Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan, will be able to try it for themselves on February 7 when a demo launches on the eShop. Atlus has announced that the trial will include the introduction; the first mini-dungeon, Old Forest Mine; the first skyship area, Windy Plains; and areas near the first main dungeon, Lush Woodlands. The main dungeon will host numerous sidequests to attempt, as well as those skills, classes, and gear available in the area in the full title. Towns will have some services on offer as well, such as QR Guild Card exchanges. Save files will also be compatible with the full release.

Project X Zone coming to North America, screens released
Namco Bandai has announced that they will be bringing over the crossover strategy-RPG Project X Zone. The Banpresto- and Monolith Soft-developed 3DS release features 50-plus characters from various Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Sega properties venturing out in twos as a Pair Unit, with a third assisting Solo Unit, in an attempt to seal a rift in time and space that is causing the universes to merge. Players can look forward to such pairings as Akira and Dante, Chun Li and Sakura, and Frank West and Jin.
