Official Statement Join Michael Knight
and KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) as they fight to protect the innocent
in a world of criminals who operate above the law! In Knight Rider, a game based
on the classic 80's TV series, players will take on the role of KITT and assist
Michael Knight in his quest for law and order through 10 action-packed missions
that will take place in over 15 different environments. KITT, a sentient top-secret
super car that is virtually indestructible, is programmed to protect human life
and fight crime alongside its driver, the intrepid Michael Knight.
General Information It's KITT,
it's Michael, and it's a throwback to a time when television was all about what
cool pairing could fight crime. Imagine an action title that replaces the typical
human, or alien, with a sarcastic car. Busting crime through 10 levels, the duo
will venture through 15 different environments in the pursuit of justice and catchy
one-liners.
Hands-On
It's an invasion of the 80s! Quick, hide your hair gel and bright pink fanny packs!
What? Oh, I was the only one with a bright pink fanny pack? Damn. Well, keep this
between us then. Well, if there was ever a man not afraid to wear feminine
clothes in the name of fashion, it's the world
renowned and much beloved David Hasselhoff. Before there was Baywatch,
before there was the incomparable Baywatch Nights, and yes, before he stormed
the Berlin wall in his typical spandex and headband fashion, there was Knight
Rider. Hasselhouff played the role of Michael Knight, natural badass and the
driver of KITT, a sentient car that fights crime! Yes, I loved this show in the
80s. Everyone did, so if anyone out there is laughing and saying "No, I didn't!"
stop lying to yourself, it isn't healthy. Alongside Bonnie Barstow and
Devon, Michael, and the always witty KITT, fought all kinds of crime. From drug
runners to kidnappers, to drug runners to kidnappers, the show had it all. For
those who enjoyed the sheer campyness of it, or David's gleaming smile, get ready
to relive the olden days. Scanners, radar jammers, ski mode, and the crowd pleasing
turbo are all here. Now, the title could go either way from what I played, but
the developers did a great job in capturing the high flying tricks of the show.
Speeding over a fiery 18 wheeler that had been tipped over, the action goes into
slow motion and the camera pans around to show KITT appearing through the thick
smoke, ready to hit the ground and tear it up. The game really does require
a good bit of skill and quick reflexes as there are a ton of obstacles that wouldn't
seem to be a problem. As an enemy flees, something tips over and the only recourse
is to hop on the side using the ski mode and praying that the car is lined up
well enough, and when it is - oh, it is indeed a sweet feeling. Scanning cargo,
scrambling radars, and chasing criminals down busy streets and desolate highways
is the name of the game here. As stated, Knight Rider could go
any way. While the voices and likenesses weren't present, they're close enough
- but, could David really have a digital counterpart that's up to par? If the
full version goes all out with exaggerated obstacles and kitschy scenarios, this
could definitely be a blast. As of now, it's an enjoyable and fast-pace romp through
my nostalgic childhood. I can only hope Davilex Games goes all out with their
material: here's hoping! [
