Resident Evil arena shooter Umbrella Corps launches for PC, PS4

Capcom’s Resident Evil-themed third-person shooter Umbrella Corps has launched for PC and PS4. The download-only title focuses on bursts of fast-paced action with quick matches set in levels from throughout the series, including Raccoon City, RPD Police Station, and the Village from RE4. The 29.99 main game is supplemented by a $14.99 Upgrade Pack that includes a set of skins (Leon, Chris, Wesker), weapons, emotes, custom colors, and patches. The $39.99 Deluxe Edition bundles the game with the pack. Capcom plans on supporting the game with free post-launch content, which will include maps (the Mansion from RE1, Lanshiang from RE6), and a free-for-all mode called 4 Survivors.

Console versions of Minecraft get new versus mini-game, Battle

A new mini-game has launched for the console versions of Minecraft, Battle. The free update includes the mode as well as three maps, and more map packs are planned to launch in the future for $2.99 each. The last-man-standing mode has players battle for resources and weapons in booby-trapped arenas. The maps were designed specifically for consoles so that they are “super-accessible and fast-paced, made to support couch-based competition just as easily as online matchmaking.”

Arcanist, Challenger, more revealed in new Grand Kingdom trailer

Four more classes from Grand Kingdom are getting the trailer treatment. The latest gameplay footage covers the Arcanist, Blacksmith, Challenger, and Dragon Mage. The previous classes trailer introduced the Fighter, Hunter, Medic, and Witch. Currently, a demo is available on PSN that allows players to try their hand at the first two chapters from story mode.

The Space Marines’ fleets in Battlefleet Gothic: Armada were first glimpsed in screenshots, and now they have their own trailer. The video showcases three of the five included Chapters, the Blood Angels, Space Wolves, and Ultra Marines. All of the chapters launch next week in a bundle that is free for everyone who pre-ordered or buys the game before June 21. The Space Marines will be playable in all multiplayer modes.

Atlus localizing PS Vita RPG Caligula, launching next spring

Atlus has announced that they will be localizing FuRyu and Aquria’s role-playing game Caligula. The game will be a digital-only release for PS Vita and is scheduled to launch next spring. Not much else is known about the North America release, aside from a note that the game will retain the original Japanese audio. That said, an attack on the English Channel or a horse becoming a consul doesn’t seem likely. Maybe next time. On a positive note, some screenshots from the Japanese version were sent along to liven the news.

TriZeal Remix joining Shooting Love 20XX line on Steam on July 7

Shooting Love 20XX’s third entry, TriZeal Remix, will launch on July 7 for PC. The game will feature two-player local co-op, replay mode, and support for Steam Leaderboards and Cloud saves. Players will pilot a ship capable of swapping between three weapons—wide shot, narrow laser, and guided missile—that will fire even when another is selected if sufficiently upgraded. There’s also another, unlockable ship, for those that put in the time. For shooter fans enjoying the second release of the Shooting Live 20XX collection, Minus Zero, Degica is hosting a competition running from today until 8 p.m. (CST) on June 20. Details are below.

Monster Hunter Generations demo announced, new footage released

Nintendo’s E3 Treehouse broadcast revealed more about Monster Hunter Generations. The stream covered new info on the mechanics and a live gameplay demo of the upcoming crafting-heavy action role-playing game. Also announced was a general playable demo that will feature three monsters, with difficulty levels for everyone from newcomers to veterans, online and local multiplayer for up to four players, and new beasts. The demo will be available on eShop on June 30, though select players will receive a code allowing for early access today, while others can purchase early access via Humble Bundle’s E3 2016 Digital Ticket. Drinkbox Studio’s touch-control action title Severed will be released for iOS, DS, and Wii U later this summer. As the one-armed warrior Sasha, players set out on a quest to find her family that will see them facing strange monsters and solving puzzles by using swipe motions. As she progresses, players will gain new powers as they unlocks abilities along an upgrade tree.

Mecha action shooter Hawken to be released for PS4, Xbox One

This summer, Reloaded Games will be releasing the mech-based free-to-play team-based shooter Hawken for PS4 and Xbox One. Available for PC on Steam, the console versions are set to go live in late June or early July. At release, the game will feature 30-plus mechs, multiple classes, functional and cosmetic customization options, nine environments that range from jungles to wastelands, and six game modes. The modes include co-op, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Missile Assault, Siege, Co-op Bot Destruction, and Co-op vs AI Team Deathmatch. E3 attendees can head to Microsoft’s booth or meeting room #505 in the West Hall for some hands-on time with a playable demo.
