The standard edition of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- has hit store shelves and launched online for PS3 and PS4. As a reminder, the limited edition will not be available until December 23, due to delays caused at strikes at the Port of Long Beach and Port of Los Angeles. For those picking the game up within the launch window, Aksys is throwing in a free $7.99 DLC character, Elphelt, from now until January 5. DmC gets new Definitive Edition, Devil May Cry 4 new Special Edition

The Devil May Cry series will be returning next year with two titles, DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition and Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, both for PS4 and Xbox One. The Definitive Edition of DmC will include a host of new, extra content: Vergil playable in Bloody Palace Mode, Gods Must Die difficulty level, Must Style Mode, Hardcore Mode (designed after the older Devil May Cry titles), Turbo Mode and other gameplay modifiers, new costumes sporting designs akin to the original titles, 60 frames-per-second at 1080p, and all downloadable content, including the Vergil’s Downfall side story. Nothing else about Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition was mentioned aside from its release date of summer 2015.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 launches on Steam, SE Online store for PC

Square Enix has released the PC version of Final Fantasy XIII-2. Available for $19.99 on Steam and the Square Enix Online Store, the PC version features support for 60 frames-per-second, Japanese voiceovers with English subtitles, and several resolutions (also added today in Final Fantasy XIII). The downloadable content from the console versions, including new enemies, missions, and outfits, detailed below, are also included. Some content from the console versions are missing, though, such as the Lost Report side story episode and any collaborative pieces with other series (e.g., Assassin’s Creed and Mass Effect).

Microsoft has released Minecraft for Windows Phone 8.1. Minecraft: Pocket Edition includes creative mode, survival mode, and multiplayer over local wi-fi. This version also sports new biodomes, caves, mobs, and villages.



Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster heading to PS4

Square Enix announced during last weekend’s PlayStation Experience that they will be bringing over the updated PC version of Final Fantasy VII to PS4. At another conference today in Shanghai, PlayStation China, the studio revealed that they will also be porting over Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. The latter is said to include unspecified system-exclusive features. Both titles will be available this spring, with Final Fantasy VII as a $15.99 download and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster as a $49.99 download or retail boxed copy.

Techland offers extra weapons as Dying Light pre-order perk

Techland has kicked off a new pre-order perk program for Dying Light. Players who buy the game before launch will receive special in-game weapons through weapon dockets that are redeemed in-game by the Quartermaster. The sooner players pre-order, the more weapons they will be rewarded. At the moment, since there are eight weeks until launch, eight dockets are on offer. Each docket will include a weapon from one of the game’s higher tiers, rare, exceptional, or legendary. Current and future pre-orders will need to sign up at to receive their goodies.

Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker coming for 3DS

Atlus will be releasing an enhanced version of 2011’s Devil Survivor 2 for 3DS, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker. The new version will feature relocalized dialog, an English voiceover track, new abilities, and a new epilogue episode that introduces the mysterious Miyako Hotsuin. The epilogue will be available to play from the start via the main menu or as part of the original story and is estimated to double the length of the original release. A new updated version of Heroes of Might & Magic III has been announced for Android and iOS tablets as well as for PC. Scheduled to launch on January 29, Heroes of Might & Magic III – HD Edition will feature wide-screen support, seven campaigns, 48 skirmish maps, local multiplayer, a new online multiplayer Steam lobby, and a PC-exclusive map editor. HD Edition is currently being developed by DotEmu.

A new update has been released for Alien: Isolation that adds two additional difficulty models, Nightmare and Novice. Novice adds additional resources and ammunition, weakens the strength of androids and survivors, and makes distracting a less-aggressive Alien easier in certain portions of the game. On the other end of the spectrum is Nightmare, which limits resources, increases the strength of androids and survivors, upgrades the Alien AI, and starts the player off with a broken tracker that has a distorted display. The update is available for all versions.

The Harran Crisis unfolds in Dying Light intro cinematic

The opening movie from Dying Light has been released by developer Techland. The intro catches up with the city of Harran after a deadly outbreak and sets up the battle between the game’s two main factions, the privately funded humanitarian organization Global Relief Effort and the city’s Ministry of Defense. Also, check for some killer music. And in case any readers missed it, Techland also recently released a story trailer.
