Age of Wonders III received its first patch today. Triumph Studios noted that their goal with the update was to improve performance, fix hardware-specific issues, address problems with registration, adjust balance, and improve the AI. The full change log can be found below, but some of the highlights include the ability to adjust difficulty when restarting on the campaign map, lowered difficulty on squire, guest profile settings are now saved, and tactical AI is less likely to sally when defending. Quick saves and native high-resolution support were also added.

Citizens of Earth to be released on consoles, PC this year

Eden Industries’ “citizen-collecting” role-playing game Citizens of Earth has been picked up by Atlus. The publisher announced today that they will be releasing the title for 3DS, PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Wii U. After failing to reach its Kickstarter campaign goal, the title has found new life as a download-only release and is slated to launch later this year. As Vice President of Earth, players must find out what’s caused the populace to suddenly go crazy … by sending other citizens to fight them. Forty-one citizens—the last being a user-created citizen as part of a new contest—each with their own unique abilities, from slick car salesmen to overly caffeinated baristas, can be recruited and sent to fight the raucous hordes. The game will also feature a day-and-night cycle, weather effects, optional side quests, and modes for short and extended campaigns—oh, and apparently, no actual politics.

Fulgore, Arcade Mode, lobbies, and more added to Killer Instinct

Killer Instinct’s first season wraps up today with the release of its eighth and final character, Fulgore. The killer cyborg, sporting an updated look but still slinging about a pair of massive blades, is available for $4.99. A general game update has also gone live, adding a new Arcade Mode, a Spectator Mode, and eight-player online lobbies. The end of season one also marks the transition of development duties from creators Double Helix to the new series stewards Iron Galaxy.

GTA Online double GTA$ and RP promo kicks off for Capture Creator

Rockstar is promoting the upcoming release of their Capture Creator tool for Grand Theft Auto Online with a GTA$ and RP boost. The kit will be available on April 11 and allow players to create jobs across Content, GTA, Hold, and Raid, which they can publish for others to play as well as rate and share at the Rockstar Games Social Club. From now until Friday, players who take part in any of the Capture Jobs will receive twice the amount GTA$ and RP, and to get everyone started, the studio has highlighted six jobs that players should check out.

Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut out for Xbox, PC, tomorrow for PS4

Strike Suit Zero makes its console debut today with the release of the Director’s Cut edition for Xbox One. PC gamers can also download the re-release, which has been home to the original version since early last year, while PS4 owners will be able to grab it tomorrow. The updated version sports new ship models, improved textures, a restructured campaign, two new suits, and the additional campaign that was added as part of the Heroes of the Fleet DLC pack.

Blazkowicz goes ballistic in new Wolfenstein: The New Order trailer

A new trailer has been released for Wolfenstein: The New Order. In the new footage, titled Nowhere to Run, beleaguered resistance fighter B.J. Blazkowicz is embroiled in a battle against General Deathshead and his Nazi stormtroopers. There’s a mixture of live-action and in-game footage, with the latter featuring dual wielding with large machine guns, steampunk-style armor, and of course, chaingun action.

Atlus shows the Conception II goods in 3DS, PS Vita unboxing video

Atlus has released a new unboxing video for the collector’s edition of their upcoming role-playing game Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars. The video shows unboxings of both the 3DS and PS Vita versions, which include a slip cover, a CD soundtrack, the game, and an art insert that doubles as the health-and-safety booklet inside the 3DS version. Famed artist Yoshitaka Amano has provided his own take on the world of Child of Light. A new time-lapse video was released showing the Final Fantasy artist creating the work pictured above; a full version of the piece is viewable below. The art will be available as a poster in the Collector’s Edition that’s been announced for release in Africa, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. Unfortunately, there’s been no word on a North American release.

Linux gamers invited to save Jorvik with release of Depths of Peril

Soldak’s action RPG Depths of Peril is now available for Linux. As the protector of the city of Jorvik, players must set out into the dangerous countryside to secure the town. Players must compete against other leaders for rule of the city by completing quests that will have them battling dangerous monsters and seeking out infamous villains. Faction leaders will help or get in the way of the player’s progress as their relationships evolve throughout the campaign.
