E3 2017: Bandai Namco – Dragon Ball, Ni no Kuni, Ace Combat

This year’s E3 saw Bandai Namco bring along some of their biggest upcoming releases as well as a surprise from Arc System Works. Pillar franchise Ace Combat got a new trailer and screenshots for its seventh entry, while recent hit Ni no Kuni’s upcoming sequel, Revenant Kingdom, was officially dated for November 10. The studio also revealed a recent project with Arc System Works that sees them entering the brawler market, Dragon Ball FighterZ. The Marvel vs. Capcom-style fighter is set to launch early next year and looks to be shaping up nicely. Recent reveal Code Vein was also own shown, also receiving a new trailer for the show.

E3 2017: Activision – Destiny 2 pushed up, Crash, Call of Duty: WWII

Activision hit E3 with a focus on three series: Call of Duty, Crash, and Destiny. The studio released new trailers for Call of Duty: WWII, highlighting multiplayer gameplay, and some more in-game footage from Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Most of the news surrounded Destiny 2, which has a new, earlier release date for consoles: September 6. PC gamers will be able to grab it off Battle.Net on October 24. A new cinematic story trailer was also revealed, “Our Darkest Hour,” featuring the latest baddie Dominus Ghaul.

E3 2017 – Bethesda: Wolfenstein II, Dishonored, Skyrim NS, VR

Bethesda had a strong showing with support for a number of their popular franchises. They also revealed an initiative that encompasses several of them, Creation Club. The system is for Fallout 4 and Skyrim and is set to offer curated, free mods for players and cash for creators. Other reveals include Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Doom VFR, Skyrim for Switch, The Evil Within 2, and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. Check below for release dates, screens, and trailers.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap now available for PC

After a brief break, Wonder Boy and Wonder Girl are setting out on PC today with the release of Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. Lizardcube’s update allows players to swap graphics and audio on the fly, and also offers an array of supplemental options to customize the experience. Original Master System passwords are compatible as well for those who happen to still have theirs kicking about. The only PC-specific feature, albeit a minor one, is the support for Steam trading cards.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT coming to North America early ’18 for PS4

Square Enix is getting back into the brawler business with Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. The follow-up to 2011’s Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy is actually a reboot of the series, however, rather than of a direct continuation. The team-based fighter was co-developed by Koei Tecmo Games and Team Ninja, and is set to make its home debut early next year. The game will feature solo and online multiplayer, a roster of over 20 characters, and three-versus-three combat. Fans of the series can learn more by streaming a panel with producer Ichiro Hazama, director Takeo Kujiraoka, Justin Wong of Echo Fox, and K-Brad at the E3 Coliseum on Tuesday, June 13, at 3:15 p.m. (PST).

GTA Online gets into the illegal arm biz on June 13, trailer released

Rockstar is going to add the distribution and manufacture of weaponry into GTA Online with the Gunrunning add-on next week. To get players ready for June 13, a new trailer has been released to offer a better look at what’s being added, including weaponized vehicles, bunkers, and a a Mobile Operations Center. Psychological thriller Perception out for PS4, Xbox One

The Deep End Games’ latest thriller, Perception, has been released for console, courtesy of Feardemic. Cast as the role of Cassie, players set out to explore an abandoned mansion in an effort to prove that they can handle themselves in the world. Unlike other adventurers, Cassie is blind, so she will have to rely on her cane and echolocation to get around the estate. Sounds create visuals that tell the story behind the mansion, but as these things go in games, they also draw a malevolent force. The being forces her to shift from testing herself to attempting to solve the house’s mysteries before it’s too late.

Atlus reveals new Etrian Odyssey, Radiant Historia, and SMT

A busy day at Atlus HQ! In one email, the company has revealed several highly anticipated titles. In addition to word that they will be localizing Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, the studio also revealed that they are bringing over Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology and Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. Etrian Odyssey V is set to release later this year, and will continue the series tradition of map making, party maximizing, and first-person dungeon crawling. Scenarios will also require making important decisions at key points. Radiant Historia is launching later, in 2018, and is an enhanced port of the 2011 DS original. The time-traveling adventure is being expanded with a third timeline with episodic what-if scenarios, options to play added content during or after the original story, and revamped presentation (new character art, voice overs, music, and intro). Also set for a 2018 release is Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. This updated port will add extra endings, more story content with a new character, a new dungeon, interface tweaks, and updated graphics. Trailers and screenshots for all can be found below.

Gameplay trailer released for Cold War space-based thriller Outreach

Gambitious Digital has released the first gameplay trailer for Pixel Spill’s Outreach. Dubbed a “zero-gravity adventure game,” the story takes places near the end of the Cold War, as players take on the role of a cosmonaut as they search a Soviet space station for its missing crew. They will “explore the crippled remains of the installation, navigating an abandoned environment filled with historically accurate technology and objects from the 1980s.” A novel touch requires that players push off of surfaces to float to destinations.
