The Crew demo up for PS4, tomorrow for Xbox One, update, DLC out

Ubisoft has released a demo of their MMO-styled racer The Crew today for PS4 and another scheduled to go live tomorrow for Xbox One. The demo is playable for two hours and allows players to transfer their progress to the full version. Launching alongside the demo is the $6.99 Vintage Car Pack, which includes the Chevrolet Corvette C2, Chevrolet Corvette C3 and Spyker C8 Aileron, as well as the Vintage Live Update. New single-player downloadable content is now available for Dragon Age: Inquisition, the Jaws of Hakkon. The $14.99 add-on, available first for PC and Xbox One as a timed exclusive, supplements the original game with a new story arc surrounding the last Inquisitor’s quest to hunt down a dragon. Players will be able to explore a new area, Thedas, as well as acquire new legendary armor and weapons.

Batman: Arkham Knight now launching June 23, plus gameplay trailer

Rocksteady has rescheduled the worldwide launch for Batman: Arkham Knight from June 2 to June 23. To tide series fans over, a new, nearly eight-minute-long gameplay trailer was released. Titled Officer Down, the video follows Batman as he glides and zips around Gotham, engaging thugs in melee combat (for a 30-hit combo), saving injured officers, and destroying rides in the Batmobile. The footage was captured directly from the PS4 version.

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition extras detailed, new screens, trailer

Capcom has released some new details from their upcoming Devil May Cry 4 re-release, Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition. Scheduled to launch this summer for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Special Edition will include the original game, three new playable characters (Lady, Trish, and Vergil), the original PC version’s wave-based Legendary Dark Knight Mode, support for 1080p at 60fps, as well as new costumes and skins. During the campaign, players will be able to complete Dante’s missions as Trish and Nero’s as Lady, while Vergil will have new moves and an updated look from his appearance in Devil May Cry 3. Black Forest goes speedrunning in Giana Sisters: Dream Runners

The Giana Sisters will be returning this summer in a new game designed around speedrunning. Black Forest Games is looking to have PC, PS4, and Xbox One players zipping around with friends and strangers this summer in Giana Sisters: Dream Runners, a new competitive multiplayer side-scroller. Up to four players will be able to select from five different characters, each with special abilities, to go head to head local or online, collecting gems and other power-ups as they dodge obstacles and other hazards in order to finish the stage first.

The Reikland Reavers show off their moves in Blood Bowl 2 trailer

Cyanide has rolled out the first gameplay footage from Blood Bowl 2. The video features the human Reikland Reavers squaring off against orcs, demonstrating some of the 75 different skills. There’s also a glimpse of what the new engine brings to the series, including cheering fans, a dynamic camera, and improved animations. The official site has also been relaunched, offering more info on multiplayer and the eight playable races.

Another batch of LucasArts titles has been added to GOG.com’s library. Six games are included in the latest set, three of which are making their digital distribution debut: the action-platformer Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb, first-person shooter Outlaws (plus A Handful of Missions expansion), and point-and-click adventure Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders. The remaining games, each 20% off as part of a launch promo, are all adventure titles: Loom, Monkey Island: LeChuck’s Revenge, and The Dig.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon free and for-pay DLC detailed, media released

Atlus has more in store for Etrian Mystery Dungeon than another character reveal with news about upcoming free and for-pay DLC. From release date until May 5, buyers will be able to download five new quests for free, with each requiring that players track down missing adventurers. After May 5, the quests will cost either $1.49 or $1.99. Details for each are available below. A paid theme will also be available on March 31; the $0.99 download, demonstrated here, will feature scrolling 3D and hand-drawn character art, custom folders, and the theme song. And of course, a new trailer was released along with new screenshots for the latest class reveal, the Wanderer. These sword-wielders are experts at attacking animals, clearing paths, and escaping dungeons, capable of getting the party to safety without sacrificing their items.

Natsume has released some new screenshots from their upcoming traffic-management sim A-Train: City Simulator. Described as “a cross between a social experience and a deeply involved city building simulator,” the game puts players in the shoes of a transportation supervisor tasked with keeping traffic running like a well-oiled machine in a variety of situations, from cities to suburbs. Players will have access to a variety of support structures, including subways and bus terminals, to augment their services and keep their job as they progress from the steam era to electric. Custom scenarios will also be possible with an included map editor.
