The first Supreme Commander title published by Square Enix, Supreme Commander 2, has shipped to retail for the 360. Follow-up to the 2008 Supreme Commander on the 360, the sequel is set 25 years after the Infinite War and immediately after the assassination of the new president of the Colonial Defense Coalition. With his assassination, the Coalition’s factions – United Earth Federation, The Illuminate, and the Cybran Nation – are engaged a tense standoff as each suspects the other.
Featuring the massive wars that the series has become known for, Supreme Commander 2 also expands on the universe with a character-driven campaign comprised of 18 missions. New units and abilities are available for all types – air, land, and sea – as well as multiplayer modes and maps. A new control scheme has also been designed specifically for the console release. Supreme Commander 2 is rated E10+ by the ESRB, and it should be showing up on store shelves shortly for $59.99.
