Taito has released the 1978 arcade classic Space Invaders for the iPad. Dubbed Space Invaders HD, the new version has been redesigned to take advantage of the iPad platform with optimized graphics, bonus materials (including design documents), and a cocktail table-styled mode that engages when the iPad is laid flat. Popular in pizzerias and cafes, the table-styled cabinets allowed players to face each other and play while seated – and that’s here too. Yep, two-player face-offs. Retrotastic!
