The latest entry in Square Enix’s popular Kingdom Hearts role-playing series, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, is set to ship to retail this summer. The PSP-exclusive prequel will be the fifth installment and provide fans a glimpse of the universe before Sora. The story will unfold through the eyes of three different characters: Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. In addition to new combat features – command styles, command decks, shotlocks, and dimension links – several new Disney characters and locations will also make their debut, including Sleeping Beauty’s Enchanted Dominion, the Dwarf Woodlands from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Deep Space from Lilo and Stitch.

For fans wanting some multiplayer action, Birth by Sleep includes four new modes: versus, arena, command board, and rumble racing. In addition, the North American version will also receive extra features not found in the original Japanese release, including Crown Stickers, an extra boss, and additional multiplayer options.

Birth by Sleep is rated E10+ (Everyone 10 and older) by the ESRB and will be hitting store shelves in a few months.
