GC Developers Conference (GCDC) today announced that Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games, Inc., will give a keynote at this year's conference, in Leipzig, Germany, August 18-20, 2008. The keynote will highlight development progress of the highly anticipated first-person shooter game, Gears of War 2.

"Epic set the technological bar for next-generation games with the original Gears of War, so we knew we had our work cut for us with Gears of War 2," said Michael Capps, president of Epic Games. "We look forward to sharing with our peers what we have learned so far from this incredible experience,"

"Epic Games is a major force in the games industry today, from their million-selling franchises Unreal, and Gears of War, to their engine technology which is licensed by hundreds of developers worldwide," Frank Sliwka, project director of GCDC. "We look forward to hearing from Dr. Capps on the development of one of the most exciting games of the holiday season, including the challenges they've faced in bringing the game to market."

The conference will continue to announce its impressive line-up of prominent speakers from game publishers, developers, major media companies, and supporting industries over the next several months.

Call for Papers Ends May 30th
Currently, the conference is still accepting speaker proposals through its website until May 30th, at which time the advisory board will make decisions as to which presentations best fit the themes of the conference. To submit a proposal to speak, or for information regarding the registration process, please visit the GCDC website at: http://www.gcdc.eu.
